Dude should have struck while the iron was hot and cashed in after that undefeated (until they met us) run. He could have cashed in somewhere else, even if he flopped wherever he went. Probably left a butt ton of money on the table.

I'm sure he will, but whoever hires him must understand they get the loud mouth drunk with him. Same situation with the youngest Ball kid, they get daddy too, I wouldn't want either one of them.

Yah, this is interesting timing. He did enough to get fired weeks ago, but they didn't do it. They must have found something else.
I would agree. He was holding out, hoping he'd keep his job as the season drew near. The accusations that have been made are about verbally abusive treatment of players. They had several players transfer out at the end of last season, many more than they might normally have. When asked about why they were leaving, they cited their treatment by Marshall as a reason. If Wichita St were wise, they would have made this move back in May or June. If they had, they'd have given a new coach a chance to get things figured out before beginning a new season. As it is, they'll likely have to hand the reigns over to an assistant, or they'll have to bring in someone last minute who will have to figure things out quickly.

Truth is, Marshall had trouble while at Winthrop with this same issue. Players reported him back then, and that was 2007. I think Wichita St hoped the issues wouldn't follow Marshall or that maybe they were isolated to a particular troubled player. It seems that is not the case.

It sometimes takes a fiery personality to motivate people and players to be great, but there is a fine line you can't cross. It seems he flirted with that line regularly and obviously crossed that line multiple times.

You know what's even worse, Gregg STILL hasn't been fired. He hung on long enough to resign AND walk away with, if I heard right, 7.5 million bucks.

Okay, so how wimpy is the WSU AD? He basically let Marshal dictate how he wanted to depart and collect his money on the way out the door, AFTER he laid waste to the entire program and embarrassed the university.

That’s actually a smidge worse than the South Carolina AD who freakin' created a contract for Will Muschamp, who couldn't win at Florida, that cost USCjr over 14 million to fire him.

Did the AD not realize that Muschamp would have taken any deal thrown his way? Why draw up a multi year deal like that for a guy that couldn't even win at Florida? What made this guy think he was going to win at S. Carolina? Unreal.

He will have a job next year.

Probably, which sucks.

The Athletic initially reported multiple allegations against Marshall from the 2015-16 season, including Marshall pushing and later punching former player Shaquille Morris; Marshall putting one of his hands around a staff member's neck; and Marshall following and trying to punch a student-athlete in another sport who parked in his parking spot.

Morris told Stadium that Marshall punched him during a practice. Following a foul, Morris said he went to help teammate Zach Brown up and was then struck with a punch by Marshall. The incident, according to Morris, came the same day he told Marshall that his mother had cancer.

Stadium also reported that the staff member whom Marshall attempted to choke was former assistant coach Kyle Lindsted, who is now at Minnesota. Lindsted declined to comment when reached by Medcalf following Stadium's report.

Other allegations reported by Stadium, which talked to more than 30 current and former members of the program, included Marshall body-shaming a player who is now dealing with anxiety and depression; Marshall making "Indian howling noises" and telling Isaiah Poor Bear-Chandler, who is of Native American descent, "to get back on his horse"; Marshall telling Colombian center Jaime Echenique he would be "a great coffee bean picker"; and Marshall telling Erik Stevenson that he was "afraid of brothers, guys raised by their grandparents eating PB&Js."

He resigned but will walk away with over 8.5 million it was reported. WSU, were too scared to just fire him, and tell him to take a hike, due to all his “Bobby Knight” like actions, going back for years, as players are talking. They should keep the money and dare him to sue.
