Can we explain this to SCT1111. Not that difficult.
I think Hobbs and Schiano would be a great team honestly. Both are great with donors. Most head football coaches at successful schools have dominating personalities. I refuse to believe that Hobbs couldn't deal with it.

Sorry, just not gonna happen. RU had the chance and as usual went cheap and we got Ash hole! Never in the history of NJ has cheap been so expensive

Let’s hope so because Hobbs has some splain’ to do with this ridiculous hire and even worse extension. Money never had to be guaranteed.

At this point, GS probably is the only chance to even salvage this recruiting season. Anyone else (that we can afford) probably won't have much recruiting effect until next year (i.e. the 2020 class), and unless the new coach actually can get into a bowl next year, I'm not sure the recruiting will be any better until the 2021 class at the earliest.

Whatever happens, we need to move sooner than later.

The whiny jerks who complained, “Oh he never got us to the next level,” can suck it. He did the absolute impossible. He turned the worst program to some level of competitiveness. No other coach in the 1A era has managed to do that. “Oh, but he left us in a larch.” Shut the hell up. He’s the only coach we haven’t had to shell out a fortune to buy up the remainder of his contract.

Bill Snyder did it at K State - was as monumental as RU. So much so they brought him back for round 2 at an advanced age no less

I want an offensive-minded head coach who's going to make these kids think they can be Heisman candidates and stars...

Dude...you serious?
He's got a system. I'm dead serious. I think he thought his o-line recruiting would go a lot better than it is right now. Coach Ash knews football better than most head coaches out there. It's always a process with these defensive coordinators turned head coaches.

People here wanted Schiano fired for years. I remember the threads well. Now we have people begging and praying he returns.

Well, after Flood and Ash... They have made Schiano look like Bear Bryant.

I would love to have him back but I also don't think that is happening. I can't see why he would ever want to come back. It makes zero sense so I am not getting my hopes up.

Regarding Schiano’s interest in returning, before the Tennessee debacle I thought there was zero chance. Now I think there’s a small chance as we may be his best chance for a P5 HC gig, although I do not think everything that would need to happen will fall into place.

If the W-L record were no different against these world-beaters, but we showed some signs of improvement, I could maybe, just maybe believe that. But the mistakes and utter cluelessness these guys display...not a chance. But you believe what you believe and we’ll see. Due to our AD’s bungle, I’m sure CA will still be here in two years.

Could you imagine how much we'd have to pay to get GS back? Fleck makes $3.75M. GS would want at least $4M/yr for 6 yrs with auto-2yr extensions and $500K raises for every bowl game.

I think Greg might come cheaper and for around what Ash is making ( with incentives clauses to boost salary) .
The reason I feel that way is the Tennessee thing is behind him, but in the back of the minds of a lot of the p-5 programs that will be looking for a HC. His connection to the Nit program scandal ( even if innocent) is a drawback when teams think PR.
But for Rutgers, his returning would be a PR coup because of the way he built the program into a winner and the media would run with that .
Doubt Hobbs would be given the money to buy Ash out and bring in Greg
