Why don’t coaches wear blazers on the sidelines anymore? Is there a more classic look than Hank Stram, circa 1968? Schiano not only needs sidelines blazers, he needs to wear a crest or R on the blazer.

Didn’t Al Golden do the whole jacket and tie thing?

I see it more with hoops coaches since they wear suits on the sideline but ...
A college coach should have a consistent image

For Rutgers
- Black or Navy suit
- white shirt
- all red scarlet tire or scarlet tie with black stripes

It is like a uniform that needs to be consistent

This is good for Pike and Barchi. Hobbs not so much

this is not Rutgers branding with a gray suit and purple tie (unless it is a coaches vs cancer week)

I think Cali is saying that the cut of the suits is better, not necessarily the quality of them. It is interesting how much better a form fitting cut (or custom made) suit will look.

As part of the uniform deal are they expected to sport the logo-ized merch?

$5000 a year won't go far if you are looking at top of the line bespoke suits.

I live in So. Cal. Saw that Mick Cronin was allocated a $60,000 allowance for suits when he signed on at UCLA. Seems a lot, but then b-ball coaches dress for more than 12-13 games a year.
