We had Kentucky fans that would argue that one recruiting visit to a school doesn't make much difference in a recruiting battle, but after Green signing with Kentucky, we now have proof that sometimes isn't true. This is a kid that had his mind made up for Cuse and Cal talked him into a visit to an actual Kentucky game and it changes the kid's entire thought process on where he should go to school at. Just think about how important the game against Izzo and Michigan State turned out to be? The fact that our young guards had the ball in their hands to make plays changes a talented kid's mind and brings him to Kentucky instead. Cal kills in marketing and really knows how to make it a big factor with recruiting. Thank God we made Cal our coach. I don't know another guy on the entire planet that is so perfect for the Kentucky coaching job.

I don't disagree with your premise at all, which is never count out Cal in anything. That being said, I'm not sure I buy the whole narrative that Tuesday night was the turning point, and he was 100 percent Syracuse before that.

Syracuse had been recruiting this guy, non-stop, for two years. I've read some of their fans say he took at least 10 visits. Clearly he already had doubts. Otherwise, why had he not committed as of the night before the end of the early signing period? I think he wanted UK all along, but the people around him - most notably Scoop Jardine and his contacts in the area - were always in his ear UK was recruiting Trae Young, he was Plan B, blah, blah, blah. That may or may not have resonated with Green, but you can bet it did with the people around him.

After Tuesday, he could once and for all say that's simply not true, and he was free to make the decision he always wanted to make.

He was born in Philly and his hometown is a half hour from there.

Always happy to educate my less-knowledgeable fans.
Lol. Regardless of birthplace and proximity, South Jersey and South Philly are too different places with different cultures. Come visit so I can educate you.
