What a superb post by Eurocat and so many others in this thread. I've been unable to get to many Cats games in any sport for years, and likely have seen my last in person. (Wife's health has turned me into a pretty much full-time caregiver.)

But this board -- and its predecessors -- have given much pleasure. At risk of going all "Will Rogers" on everyone, I can sincerely say: I never met a poster from this board I didn't like. Thanks to all.

I knew I was forgetting a few a few and I can't believe I forgot Alaska! Mister Moose! And a great guy, if you have never met him, do so, in two minutes you will have a new friend.

There are others - especially basketball but I don't go there because 90 percent of games are on at 4am or something my time so of course I read the AP story and LouV recap but what else can I say to discuss. Therefore I don't really go over to that part of the site. I didn't see anything of the game and I would be a dummy writing stuff for no reason just to vent. But that part of the site is just as big of "bleed purple" as football is. (Of course that does not stop me from being a dummy here!)

I have to agree. Turk and The C, along with Phatcat were top tier. Half of the others mentioned were as well to be honest. Turk got under the skin of many, but I did agree with most of what he said at the time.

Yes, I think that was acknowledged. He may have had his detractors; not I among them. I did come to know him a bit, and he was very cordial to me and my wife.

We even sat beside Turk through a whole game. Knowing he would be posting the usual player "grades" afterward, I was reluctant to distract him with much conversation. Nearly as I could tell, he took no written notes during the game but enough, the next day posted a thorough and detailed analysis. Agree with Turk's every view or not, he respected the game and took it seriously.

Did you actually confirm this? It still makes no sense to me that nobody ever posted about it. I also don't find an obituary for him.
