I'm of the opinion now they are employees paid to do a job.

It’s really not even debatable. It’s just a matter of how much longer they can keep this charade going to prevent payroll taxes and having to fund other employee benefits.

That’s really a legal question, not an opinion. And as of now they’re independent contractors.
