I think you're being sarcastic, but I honestly didn't think that was a dirty play at all and I don't think he should be punished. Neither swipe got any ball but I think it was pretty clear he was going for the ball and trying to prevent an easy layup. I liked his effort. I saw one article that described it as "he threw Caruso to the floor" which is totally false and the product of a dramatic mind.

For the record I've always thought Allen is a dirty punk but I just don't see it on this play.

For me, first swipe is ok. It’s the second swipe that didn’t look like a ‘basketball play’.

Clearly you and the NBA agree, I guess I still didn't see anything but him going for the ball. I think if its anyone besides Allen it draws a normal foul and life goes on. But that's okay, he earned his reputation.
