Henry Gray was not a recruit any of the top teams went after, especially after he ran a 4.7 40 which is bad for a corner. He received a bunch of offers from a lot of schools last year because he plays at a powerhouse school in Florida and many teams were hoping he would continue to develop into an elite corner prospect and he hasn't. It happens every year in recruiting, teams continue to pass on prospects because they don't develop or they have off the field issues. And I can tell you the 6'1 is a lie, maybe with the hair. He stands 5'10-5'11 at best. Unless he can somehow improve that 40 time into the upper 4.4's, his future is at safety. And for anyone that thinks my post is 'sour grapes', I've followed his recruitment as he was on Ohio States radar last year before the coaches started going after other prospects, as did many other schools.

Thanks, dick.

I never said anything that wasn't true. I just think some of yall are looking too much into the star ratings and the offer sheet is all.
Maybe you're just looking too hard through your stupid glasses.

Weird. Ohio State doesn't strike me as the kind of school that extends offers to and hosts visits from ****** players.

Just trying to give you some perspective that isn't Nebraska biased. He might end up being solid but he's really overrated, even PSU passed on him if that says anything. Now Turner Corcoran is a great prospect that I wish we landed, but Henry Gray is certainly not a 4* prospect.

After watching his film I kind of feel the same way. To me, it looks like he would project better at OLB but I'm not sure he could put on enough weight and he's already not very fast. His rating is probably partially a byproduct of being from South Florida. I see him as being a middle of the road 3 star, but then again I'm not a recruiting expert.

You just said a bunch of things that are unverifiable. The only database we have that compiles offers says he has a ton of offers from the top schools. And the rating systems that are used say he is a 4 star...they also take into account his poor 40 time. A 40 time on a single day in the summer before your senior year is about as pointless at projecting future talent as how many hot dogs he could eat in a minute. That being said it is worth the risk for Nebraska. If he blows up and is great it will show that Florida kids can come up and ball out in a place like Nebraska. We don't have easy access to the south like Columbus does. We have a pretty decent Dbs coach that will coach him up to be at least contributor.
