Yep it is flat out plain weird, talk about living in a bubble these people and professional athletes make millions to entertain us - I do not want that to even hear their views - they should keep them to themselves. The same way as I would not want my car mechanic preaching politics to me when fixing my car

Aren't most of these award shows self awarding where they vote themselves the Winner? I have no interest in watching self promoting there music and political agenda,most of there music is terrible except with the help of electronic synthesizers,I highly doubt anyone would buy Miley Cyrus's music if she had to record her songs in the era of Diana Ross Marilyn Mccoo and Patsy Cline
I turned it off after I saw it was promoting a political agenda and self serving rather than focusing on awarding entertainers based on talent.
What were the political statements? Do shoot unarmed black people or dont be so rapey? Seems pretty universal

Political music is fine. Hillary Clinton reading from a book about Trump has nothing to do with music. Would they invite Romney to read an anti-Obama book?

Agree. A very important aspect of the arts is that they are vehicles for social movements everywhere. Film, music, etc aren't just for entertainment. They are very important ways to tell stories and create social awareness.
You attend church to hear that stuff by design- mostly from guys trained in that field
Our entertainers are paid to entertain- and most have little to no education or expertise in economics or politics. TO have Hollywood which is knowingly knee deep and profited from this filth and has been for decades- telling us how to live- is absolutely laughable.

It would be helpful for me to have a list of the professions and industries where it is acceptable to have opinions on political and/or social matters.
This has been going on since the early 1900s, so we should be used to it by now.
Man, Diana Ross is amazing. Actually, love most of the stuff coming from the Golden Age of Motown.
IMO they can do whatever stupid, political crap that has nothing to do with the actual music they are patting themselves on the back for they want. Just don't expect anyone that isn't full up on estrogen to give a flip.
