Thankfully my 13 year old Son thinks most of it sucks. He actually like my classic country, and blues I listen to (when not tuned into sports talk). He just came and told me Sting is gonna play, and I don't even want to risk changing the channel and seeing more of the steaming piles they trot out there

It sucks so far. Pink was good as usual though.
Do not watch award shows or all star games. Both seem snobbish and unnecessary.

The usual pop tripe drove me to country music 5 years ago, and I have never looked back. Still love the 70's and early 80's music. My 14 year old likes it as well. She sing "tin man" by America every time it pops up on XM radio.
Missed those days when Elton John and David Bowe were fringe artists.
Nothing sucks more than the crap on SNL. Quite often the drummers act like Keith Moon but they're doing techno crap.
Hear hear! The man was a musical genius. I have been listening to his really early stuff recently, and I just can't get enough. This really early stuff sorta reminds me of Scott Walker, who is absolutely amazing.
EDIT - Well, I guess I understand now why Bowie's early stuff reminds me of Scott Walker. Apparently Bowie loved Scott Walker and The Walker Brothers.

At what point did it become acceptable to use entertainment and entertainers for political propaganda- We watch movies, sports and listen to music to have fun and give us a break from all the stuff happening in the real world.
