And his none of his rationale for benching him was due to him being "injured", it was more of along the lines of he just sucks. An injured and beat up Cousy award finalist.
Did you watch the Arky game where Wheeler was tossing up junk into the swatting trees and throwing the ball away out of bounds once we had the lead?Did you watch the end of lsu where they couldn't get the ball across halfcourt because of a simple press?
Fair, I'd say rest another week but we need both Wheeler and TyTy healthy. Just seems weird to discount Wheeler assuming he's healthy come the SEC tourney. An injured and beat up Cousy award finalist.
What? Some people on here literally do not understand basketballThis and play lance ware with Oscar against bigs who will pull oscar from the lane. Or at least toppin on that big. 3 shooters on the floor or it’s an early out I’m afraid .
Both he and TyTy were rusty for sure but Wheeler did show glimpses of his pre injury self. You cannot discount 10 points 3 assists and 1 TO in the second half. A 3:1 ratio is elite, he just needs to do that for an entire game. He also needs to shoot fewer shots which is my only real complaint.Did you watch the Arky game where Wheeler was tossing up junk into the swatting trees and throwing the ball away out of bounds once we had the lead?
Our run started once sahvir got in. He may of forced one shot that away blocked out of bounds. Dude literally gets where he wants whenever he wants. Yeah we beat Alabama and lsu without him but with him those games are over in the first half. Learn the game and see the whole picture instead of basing your whole argument on a play or 2. Wheeler does so much not even in a stat book as well.Did you watch the Arky game where Wheeler was tossing up junk into the swatting trees and throwing the ball away out of bounds once we had the lead?
Don't go too far out on that limb...The lineup we'll all talk about for years following this season will be:
Ty Ty
Grady
Sharpe
Toppin
Oscar
And it will also be the lineup that never sees the court together.
Oh please. The same people bagging on Brooks for losing that rebound and that lob are the ones ignoring the fact that we took the lead with his steal and layup. Bottom line, you can't have it both ways. Wheeler is a liability because teams are sagging on him. He's still banged up and TyTy should be running point anyway - he was doing that a lot when he got hurt and we were boatracing teams. He missed more than two. Did you even watch the game? Any idiot who didn't could easily look up the box score. He was 5 for 13. Like it or not, teams are going to sag on Wheeler for the rest of the season. He's a shooting liability. Same thing happened to Wall. If Cal doesn't adjust to that, we're done.I haven’t bagged on Keion at all. Unlike most people I thought he was out 2nd best player Saturday. Arkansas was the first time in a while to sag on wheeler and missed maybe 2(?) outside looks. I love tyty but he can get a little shaky sometimes handling the ball and we need his scoring, not facilitating. This team is at its best when sahvir is healthy and playing 100 mph. He puts so much pressure on both ends of the floor. Remember the Florida game? We were rolling up 14, he gets that second foul and Florida is within 4 in minutes. But yeah that layup he forced Saturday should be enough to make a position change lol
You are right that he should be a 2 guard. But he has made 83-190 at UK. That is more shot attempts than he took at Davidson and at a better percentage made.Grady's a shooter that has to be set to make shots. He was really a product of the system at Davidson, who had a coach that knew how to get the most of his talents, which doesn't happen at Kentucky. You want this guy running the Point ? You got to be kidding. Certain players have certain talents, and running the point is not one of his talents. Shooting the basketball is his talent, but he has to have his feet set to make shots, which requires set plays to get open. Running up and down the sidelines yelling run, run, run, does not utilize Grady's talents.
This is completely false and shows that you haven't watched ANY of our games.Grady's a shooter that has to be set to make shots. I looked at every 3 Grady made going back to the Aubrun game and not one 3 was him shooting from Isolation. All were either catch and shoot or coming off screens and taking a set shot. He had a few where he caught the ball and took a few dribbles and or fake but most were indeed what the poster said. This is completely false and shows that you haven't watched ANY of our games.
You should drop the facade and just go back to the Gonzaga board.
Never said I wanted Wheeler riding the bench. You're a liar and an idiot. Produce the post where I said it.This aged real well. You look like an idiot wanting Wheeler riding the bench.
Nail on the head..LowCountry Cat: Ya'll don't know anything about basketball!

Yeah he had a great game against 13-17 Ole Miss. I hope he plays this well the rest of the month. If he does and we make the FF, I'll admit I was wrong.Played a little different tonight, eh? Imagine that. I bet you're singing a different tune, too. Dumbazz opinion after a kid comes back from injury..
Yet ANOTHER straw man. You guys are laughable frauds. Go have your circle jerk in your own little private chat room.Nail on the head..
1. Even if you meant for Wheeler to play the 2 and Grady the 1 that would still not make any sense.Yet ANOTHER straw man. You guys are laughable frauds. Go have your circle jerk in your own little private chat room.
You can have a four guard set if you wanted to. But that doesn't change the fact you want Grady leading the point. The other 1-3 guards would be playing off the ball.Wait, are you saying that we can only play two guards at a time? Who wrote that rule? Have you ever watched basketball? Now I remember why I blocked you. You're thick.
I don't have to watch, I know Calipari. I watched all his games up until he allowed those players to kneel during the National Anthem, and I will watch them again when he leaves. I do keep up with the cats, but I will never watch again until he is gone. He disrespected every American that gave their life in the defense of this country. I did watch Grady at Davidson, and he was a product of the system that they ran. He is not or ever was a great player, he was the product of a system that brought the most out of his talent which is shooting . That is never going to happen in the Calipari system. If he would let Bruiser Flynt handle the offense the Cats would be a lot better off, but we all know that will never happen due to Calipari's ego.I looked at every 3 Grady made going back to the Aubrun game and not one 3 was him shooting from Isolation. I'm going to look at all 3s made this year to break down his shooting even more but so far its been interesting. Really seems like @TheOtherGreatOne has watched UK play.
Man, reading that, I wonder why you even come here to post. You haven't watched a single UK game since last season's Florida game? Grady's game has changed a bit since he came to UK. He has definitely improved. Early on he really struggled finding any shot. But he has learned better how to get open. And when he played the point against Alabama and LSU, he handled it pretty well. Obviously, he's not as good in that spot as Wheeler or TyTy, but he did well considering he hasn't run point since he was a freshman at Davidson. I also disagree that he's not a great player. I would say he definitely is a great player, especially a great college player. I know you haven't seen it, but his ability to curl around the screen, rise, and fire that 3 is elite. He's shooting 44% from 3. That is elite.I don't have to watch, I know Calipari. Exactly. All he talks about is Gonzaga.I guess Cal is evil for kneeling but Mark Few being drunk and very lucky not to have killed someone driving is just fine.Man, reading that, I wonder why you even come here to post. I would also take issue with your attack on Cal's offense. Take a look at the stats if you won't watch a game. This offense is #2 in efficiency in the NATION. You don't get to that point without being able to coach offense. And the offense is different this season, for multiple reasons. This team pushes the ball in transition more than others. This team utilizes the pick and roll more than others. Cal changes his offense to fit his personnel pretty much every season.
As for the comments about kneeling for the anthem, I get that. I didn't like it, either. Generally speaking, I don't believe it is ever an appropriate way to express yourself. But I can at least acknowledge that those players did not INTEND it the way you and others TOOK it. They believed they were advocating for people who couldn't speak for themselves because they lack any platform to do so. I still don't agree with it, but I do try to understand it. I also believe Calipari was in a tough spot with that team. If he doesn't allow them to express themselves, he likely loses the team and probably they all bolt after that season.
My final question is this, though- how much UK basketball did you actually watch before this? You're a Gonzaga fan so I have doubts you have ever really watched the games the way a UK fan would. I suppose I could be wrong. But I'll tell you, I "keep up with Gonzaga" also and I have watched a few games of theirs, at least bits and pieces of a bunch of different games. But I don't like Gonzaga and I don't make plans to watch their games. If I turn on the tv and they are playing someone who isn't "Directional U" which is rare, I will watch. With that in mind, your statement here doesn't mean much to me. Since you disliked UK before, nothing has changed. It seems you only post here because you can't find another board where anyone talks about Gonzaga any more than we do here, even if our discussion is usually about their crappy conference or something similar.
No, all hypocrisy aside, it's called confirmation bias. He was looking for a reason to dislike Calipari and he found it. I kind of liked Mark Few before, but since I found out he's a drunk out driving around getting DUIs, now I can dislike him and say "I'll never watch another Gonzaga game until they get rid of that alcoholic!" It's sophomoric nonsense, of course. (big dose of sarcasm coming) Humans don't make mistakes, after all, and I certainly have never done anything wrong in my life, so I can claim self-righteousness and condemn the rest of the world with a clear conscience, right? Calipari and Few should both just keep me on speed dial and call to check-in before they make decisions. That way, they can keep me happy and always make the right choices, because I am, after all, the final arbiter of all truth.Exactly.All he talks about is Gonzaga.I guess Cal is evil for kneeling but Mark Few being drunk and very lucky not to have killed someone driving is just fine.

Wheeler was 2-4 from three so the poster was correct in his assessment. Keep calling others the idiot though.I haven’t bagged on Keion at all.
