Does RU even have this position for basketball any more?
I don't see any on the coaching list.
Maybe we should open up this position again and offer it
to Greg Lewis and Omari Grier. If they don't accept they
should look for other high level recent Seniors who are
not NBA material.
What do you think?

Not sure Greg Lewis plans but overseas teams always look for Bigs that are mature and adjust to living in foreign country. He is not a First Division in premier country but he could play in 1st Division in second tier league of second division in 1st tier league and make six figures or close to it.

Omari Gier??? A conscienceless bomber who is only interested in getting his? Saw him several times as a freshman at FAU, and his play at RU indicated he was the same player. No place for him on the staff.

Providence has them based on this link for applicants:

Rutgers is a good spot for GAs since we have very good graduate programs. It would be a good spot for a former UConn player or a player from a top school where there are good academics (ie. Duke, UVA, Villanova, Michigan, Notre Dame, Maryland, etc...). The GA would probably be a 6th man type who was on good teams and learned from a top coach but was not good enough to play in the NBA or professionally. Locally we had guys like Danny Hurley and Geoff Billett that actually were starters but were not good enough to play professionally and went into coaching.

Lewis is going to have the required surgeries and look to continue playing.

For the record, surgery is something the kid should have had in December.

I wish GL (and Omari, who is a fine, well spoken young man) nothing but the best in the future

BK-Any info on Brad? Or other staff members finding a home, whether with RU or some place else?

Brad is still waiting for a final decision on his fate. He's a RU lifer and would love to be back with the program...I've done everything I personally can from a contact standpoint to let the decision makers know how valuable he is to Rutgers Basketball. We talk frequently.

I've not spoken to Corky or Van, and had only a brief exchange with Eddie. Dalip told me he's moving on in a most gracious conversation, and Shoes is still hanging in there with the process.

I believe Corky has something in the works, but I'm not aware of the plans of the others just yet.
