Is this the biggest game of the week across all classes?

Who you got and why? Computer loves Morris, but I just don't see it. Morris will be able to score, but I can't see them stopping Montini on offense.

They don't have the defensive speed to create a rush and chase Izzy down and the DB's haven't had to cover WR's anywhere close to what the Broncos have. The closest they have faced was against Simeon. I known it was a while back, but they gave up over 400 yards passing to the Simeon QB and 200+ yards to one WR.

For Morris to win they will need to slow the game way down to limit Montini's possessions and go on long sustained drives on offense. If they can do that Montini may get frustrated and have some self inflicted errors. Unfortunately that's not Morris' style, they love to go fast and no huddle. While they will be able to score that way it will create a track meet that Morris can't afford to get into because they will not win a shootout.

If you make it to the game you'll be in for a treat from both QB's. Izzy is Izzy and Persich is a dude. Not often you see a HS QB the size of an NFL TE, he's listed at 6'4", 235 lbs.

Would absolutely love to be 100% wrong, but I just can't get there with this one.

What do those of you who have seen Montini regularly this season think? Or has anyone seen both teams?

It’s a tough call on whether or not Morris is prepared for a game like this. You know Montini is battle tested. Morris just hasn’t played the same level of competition. That’s not to say they can’t win, though.

I’m inclined to agree that Morris will struggle to stop Montini. To me, this game almost has a JCA/RB circa 2001 vibe. I expect a lot of offense on both sides. Doesn’t always turn out as expected, but I’m sure it will be an electric atmosphere in Morris. This game has been anticipated since Persich transferred. Looking forward to it.

No question Montini has the better SOS. The question with Morris' schedule is, did Morris walk through their schedule because it was so weak or is Morris that good this year? I honestly don't have an answer to that question.

On paper it doesn't look that tough, but 4 of the 5 conference teams in the I8 are still alive in the playoffs and so are Morris' non con opponents Simeon, Coal City, and Cahokia.

The vibes I get are more 2001 Morris/JCA where Morris knew they were over matched on the lines so they pulled out the old lonesome polecat formation and almost pulled out the win. Hopefully Morris has had a package for Montini that they've worked on the last 20 minutes of practice all season.

Morris' best athlete was also out for the Simeon game. If you have watched them this year, you know he is a difference maker. Plays Wr/Db/ returns kicks. He is healthy now and will have a major impact this Saturday.

My all-time fave Internet burn revolved around Morris back in the Cumbie-Dergo administration. There was a pre-season post and months-running thread that had petered out with the subject line: Where is Morris Weak? This thread listed every attribute for each position on both sides of the ball and special teams.

So after they lost to JCA in the 2004 finals, I resurrected this post and simply answered: Obviously, Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Illinois.

I thought Turks was going to melt down!

Conroy is an amazing athlete, but he's only one man. Montini has at least 3 WRs that will cause problems. The biggest issue I foresee is the fact that Morris hasn't faced a team that throws the ball as often or as well as Montini will.

I didn't watch, but from the write up on their game against Geneseo, it seems like Montini ran the ball quite a bit. I assume that was a decoy for this week?
Normally when I watch Montini, conservative is not really on the table, but I admittedly watch them once or twice a year.

Be curious to see how Morris decides to defend Montini. Last weekend, Geneseo opted to spread out and take away the quick screen game, so Montini ran between the tackles with pretty good success.
