Let me simplify it even further. Unless we're all standing in bread lines, gasoline is 7 dollars a gallon, unemployment is approaching 45%, inflation is at 300% and the deficit is rounding out at 20 trillion a year, Trump gets re-elected over ANY Democrat Socialist proposing all that as our new normal.

We are more than 18 months away from the election. On paper, McCain should have cleaned Obama's clock in 2008. Hillary ahould have as well. Biden is undecided right now, but he courts a lot of votes that Hillary lost to Trump in 2016. I think Klobuchar has a solid shot if people don't decide that she's a big meanie.

I will agree with your correct statement that it is 18 months away and anything can happen between now and then. However as things stand now, and based on the positions the announced candidates have taken, I seriously doubt any of them will mount a significant challenge to Trump.
