I use Safari and had google as my search engine. I typed in "list of racists things done by democrats" The first twenty results came up with Trump being a racist. I could not find one article showing me a list as it pertains to democrats. I went 5 pages deep.

I switched my search engine to duckduckgo and typed in the same query. 10 articles poped up with lists of racist remarks by democrats.

How does this happen?

If you wanted to look at racists remarks/actions, you're searching the wrong party. You need to use the right search criteria. Sign up for a remedial interwebs class perhaps.

Yes, they have a bunch of Birkenstock wearing lesbians sitting in Kansas City watching your IP address for a search request. They are fast and when they see you submit that request, they turn around and give the results.

You two don't understand how algorithms of search engines work, do you? Let me clue you in. They take the phrase you put in and find hits. They then look at hits for each word and combination of words for hits. Then they have a very complex marketing campaign and based on the various hits of the words and word combinations, they order it based on their marketing contracts of the sites that they will make the most money when you click on the link. That is what you get and is why the Russians and others can easily put out misinformation on sites.

Now, before posting anymore stupid **** while putting forth stupid conspiracies, maybe understand some facts. You won't look such a foolish partisan putting forth your own agenda.

First off, I have worn Birkenstock's for over 15 years and all of my daughters wear them. Not sure what Birk's and Lesbians have in common, but hay, it's a free world.

On your second, one engine actually found what I was looking for, while the #1 engine did not find one article. If this does not demonstrate how biased information is today, I won't be able to find better example. And, advertising revenue should not replace Trump articles when nothing even relating to him was in the query.

On the Birkenstock comment, it was sarcastic generalization of a common stereotype. Do a google search and find out what I'm talking about.

On your second paragraph, I tried explaining in simple words so you can be a little bit educated. You don't run Google and obviously do not understand how they make money. They don't care about your partisan search; they care about making money.

Really, thought I was being serious on #1. It is true that I only wear Birks during the summer and have done so for 15 years. They are extremely popular with young ladies also, my daughters have at least 3 pairs each. By the way, my niece works for Google in Chicago. The has an art degree from Miami of Ohio and works directly with Comcast and Google advertising. She is bi-sexual (my kids have told me that, but I have no real idea because I don't care about that stuff) and extremely liberal, so I guess you are partially right.

On #2, that is exactly my point, I don't have a problem driving traffic to one of their advertisers when I google "best price for Birkenstock's " but when you do a generic search looking for political research, that is not driving revenue. The fact that they did not even list any of the top 10 articles on the other search engine is censorship at it's worst!

The fact that I had to switch search engines blows my mind. Controlling public information is one of the first things that Hitler did to get the NAZI party established.

J*C= can live without that, and I not religious. I totally agree, and just switched my browser, my son told me not to use google a couple of years ago, but honestly, I use Safari and thought they had their own search engine, I guess I found out the hard way.

I do have to ask you, why we are investigating Facebook over Russian bots influencing the 2016 election but if they are a private company, why would it matter?

I always gauge my opposition by how many insults they throw early into a discussion. This debate might be one the easiest one's yet.

Do you really want to debate the Nazi's: Their goal was not to attack the press, but to control the content of information that was available. Google is doing the same thing.

From the National Holocaust Society's main page

Once they succeeded in ending democracy and turning Germany into a one-party dictatorship, the Nazis orchestrated a massive propaganda campaign to win the loyalty and cooperation of Germans. The Nazi Propaganda Ministry, directed by Dr. Joseph Goebbels, took control of all forms of communication in Germany: newspapers, magazines, books, public meetings, and rallies, art, music, movies, and radio. Viewpoints in any way threatening to Nazi beliefs or to the regime were censored or eliminated from all media. Trump is actually asking for Americans to question the information that they are receiving, not trying to turn them into a gov. entity. NPR is the only Gov. owned news outlet in the US, and I would consider them liberal leaning if not full blown leftist.

During the spring of 1933, Nazi student organizations, professors, and librarians made up long lists of books they thought should not be read by Germans. Then, on the night of May 10, 1933, Nazis raided libraries and bookstores across Germany. They marched by torchlight in nighttime parades, sang chants, and threw books into huge bonfires. On that night more than 25,000 books were burned. Some were works of Jewish writers, including Albert Einstein and Sigmund Freud. Most of the books were by non-Jewish writers, including such famous Americans as Jack London, Ernest Hemingway, and Sinclair Lewis, whose ideas the Nazis viewed as different from their own and therefore not to be read. What is going on our college campuses today? It is not conservatives trying to force white nationalism (whatever that is)

The Nazi censors also burned the books of Helen Keller, who had overcome her deafness and blindness to become a respected writer; told of the book burnings, she responded: "Tyranny cannot defeat the power of ideas." Hundreds of thousands of people in the United States protested the book burnings, a clear violation of freedom of speech, in public rallies in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, and St. Louis.

Schools also played an important role in spreading Nazi ideas. While some books were removed from classrooms by censors, other textbooks, newly written, were brought in to teach students blind obedience to the party, love for Hitler, and antisemitism. After-school meetings of the Hitler Youth and the League of German Girls trained children to be faithful to the Nazi party. In school and out, young people celebrated such occasions as Adolf Hitler's birthday and the anniversary of his taking power. What Idea's are colleges and high schools trying to teach? Just last week a high schooler was not accepted into the National Honor Society because his quoted DJT during a daily inspiration message to the school (was was about dreaming big). They said he had character flaws which prevented the school to nominate him.

Joseph Goebbels disrupts premiere of film
In Berlin, Joseph Goebbels, one of Adolf Hitler’s top deputies, and Storm Troopers (SA) disrupt the premiere of "All Quiet on the Western Front," a film based on the novel of the same title by Erich Maria Remarque. Nazi protestors throw smoke bombs and sneezing powder to halt the film. Members of the audience who protest the disruption are beaten. The novel had always been unpopular with the Nazis, who believed that its depiction of the cruelty and absurdity of war was "un-German." Ultimately, the film will be banned. Remarque will emigrate to Switzerland in 1931, and the Nazis, after coming to power, will revoke his German citizenship in 1938.

Where has Trump ever said that he wanted the Gov. to take over the press? In fact, he want's less regulation and a smaller gov? How does that mesh with the NAZI takeover of Germany? In fact, he is using the freedom of speech to his advantage, not the other way around. I am pretty sure Obama called for a balance in reporting which would have in essence placed restrictions on the press to report what they want.

Fox news is the #1 network but if you were to bundle, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, and ABC, Fox news would not account for 40% of total viewership. So, who is really dominating the daily news cycles? It should be noted that during the previous 8 years, Fox News was the only dissenting voice in America.

To address media bias against DJT, their have been over 60 stories in the last year that was erroneous or pulled due to inaccurate reporting, could not collaborate or just plain ole was 100% made up. His 1st day in office, the media outlet went after him for taking the bust of MLK out of the oval office until the WH had to prove that it was moved to a different stand in the oval office. The day before, Michele O was making fun of the Trumps when they brought a gift before in swearing in, only to be proven a year later that she herself handed Laura Bush a present whey were being taking over the WH. It has not gotten any better since that 1st day.

Trump was never in my search criteria, but Google offered at least 20 articles about Trump lying in some form or fashion. The other search engine's top 10 were actual articles about democrats and then they added some Trump stuff in there.
