I'm all for taking better care of the student athletes, including making scholarships five years. I also don't have an issue with covering health insurance.

I am also more than fine seeing the conferences taking way less money. Still I can not support money going to a undefined movement that can't agree on how to battle racial injustice.
I don't know if we'll have to worry about the health insurance thing if Biden wins. It will be healthcare for all, courtesy of taxpayers. This whole thing smells like old milk to me. Letting a mob run loose begets more mobs. First health care and some form of compensation, then unions and more compensation and then we have the NFL lite. Of course, we've discussed this ad nauseam and know the long list of negatives that smother the positives. If opened, this can of worms is 100% certain to make the rich richer and seal the fate of small-market teams. I just wish we had bold leaders that would step forward and deal with this rebellion.

Have pre-NFL draft their freshman year. If they get drafted play them a little money, but if they leave early all funds--plus interest of some amount must be repaid to university. Funds=Anything university furniture them for: money, food, housing, healthcare, tuition and books, training-huge cost to university, etc.

Some players believe they are money makers..prove it early, or STFU.

Few things....

—Situation like the one where our school completely caved has empowered these silly **** actions.

—Right now there is a total of 12 Pac12 players that have established they are aligned with this ‘group’. It’ll be more...because the media has already made it seem like a powerful ‘movement’.

—Major demands
—-A laughable 50% of all conference total revenue to players in each sport (relative to each sport they play). So many giggles. So...most would actually owe the conference money...right? They didn’t mention net or gross...not that most even understand the diff.

—-Six years of scholarship attendance. Guess they’re all working on those doctoral and master degrees.

—2% of total conference revenue toward low income blacks financial aid... ...since they’re about equality.

—Extended health insurance coverage for 6 years

Lots of babble about the virus and risking health (Of themselves and family) playing but I’m sure some of you social media types could find posts/images (posted by them) participating in ultra high risk behaviors in the last few months.

....but as usual...that’s diff.

Vladimir Lenin Quotes

"Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted".

+

The leader of the 1917 Russian Bolshevik Revolution, Vladimir Lenin, once said, “The goal of socialism is communism.”

In “Karl Marx’ 6 steps of communism,” socialism is step 5.

So what would happen if the P12 decided to just let them boycott? Bring in SCABs? People will still support their schools regardless of who is playing for them. A new batch of players come through each year already.

Athletes and celebrities in general tend to think they are more important to society than they really are. Would they shut down the P12 season and cut the scholarships for the year?

No one can guarantee anyone won’t get COVID-19. How is it the school’s fault if a player gets COVID? How can they prove it was through football?

How many of these players will attempt to get into coaching after school? Shouldn’t they want coaches salaries to be high?

The boycott idea doesn’t seem to be very well thought out.

You think BLM takes the time to explain to scholarship players that one of the biggest life improving actions they could make is taking advantage of the free advanced education. ....’advantage’ meaning taking ‘serious’ classes with a ‘serious’ objective/goal/degree?

Or...like in the case of Texas...just want some money thrown their (BLM or equivalent) way....

They get superior medical attention through their athletic trainers, superior nutrition, superior academic support, as well as a fully paid tuition with room & board included along with all expenses paid travel and they're being "mistreated"?

Sorry....not buying it or any more College football tickets if this crap is allowed.

This could be the biggest lesson they learn in college. The question is whether or not the fans will stand for it (at any university); and if fans have had enough of the ********, fans pull funding, football program revenue dries up and program goes down *******. Scholarships gone and free education - worth 10's of thousands of dollars - disappears. Will be interesting how it plays out.

As a person who paid every single penny of the cost of my college degrees, if they lose their scholarships, I will not shed one tear. If it all goes down the *******, I keep all my donation and ticket money and travel the country. Shut it all down!

As much as I love College football, I am nodding with everything in this post. Just tired of all the whining and complaining. Either play the game, or go work in McDonalds.

Going to be a lot of highly paid coaches coming to frontline in attempt to stop this ********. Their huge paydays depend on crushing this soon...real real soon.

I'll say this...the players will find they have a lot more to lose than the Coaches. We all lose if someone doesn't start talking some sense to these misguided kids.

They need to learn some basic facts,
1) they are just entertainment, entertainment is not a need .
2 ) they can be replaced, quickly.

Here's what gets me...the opportunity to use your athletic talent to play at the highest level of Div 1A intercollegiate sports in exchange for a fully paid academic scholarship is probably one of the best bargains most of these kids will ever have in their young lives! They have a golden opportunity to not only receive a fabulous College education most either would not or could not afford (for many the only ones in their Family to do so), but to further develop their God-given skills into a performance art at the highest professional levels of their Sport to possibly be highly compensated for it if they can successfully compete against other well skilled players?

Where else are they going to receive such a fabulous bargain or opportunity simply based on their athletic talent? These kids need to put down their i-phones and start reading a little world history on the unbroken record of Socialism's abject failure because if they don't wake up and start thinking these "demands" through they may soon find themselves a sorry part of that miserable history.

Enough already.
