I’d give Howland as long as he’s needed at this point. I don’t see being able to get a better recruiter or coach at this point.
And still went one and done. There is no denying this team should be way better than it is. We have two five stars on this team with 3-4 four stars and we probably won’t even make the tournament. That is not getting the potential out of your players
He is doing a decent job for the 3-4000 fans that care. I guess it keeps them entertained between end of football and start of baseball.

Your point?? He’s not building off of it. This is the last year you have a guy like Perry and you will end up wasting it. You give him as long as he needs to do what??? Nothing has changed in five years. He is at his peak and get over the hump.
The question is who is doing the recruiting. Because if it isn’t brooks or McCray, they need to go. Doesn’t seem like they bring much to the table. The half court offensive sets leave a lot to be desired.
When was the last time this program had a defining win? They waste opportunities all the time.

In CBB this year, there is no reason NOT to make the tournament. But y’all have fun with this crap team and crap coaching. It’s amazing that the NIT is good enough for you chronic losers.

Look bud, I’ve got a long history of calling Howland out for being a poor floor coach, but he has gotten talent to Starkville and has made us respectable for the first time in a decade. He has some serious flaws, but after Ray, our basketball team is on cloud 9. Many have taken my criticism as wanting Howland fired, which is not the case. I just think he needs to take a different role and Needs a floor general to run things.

Last year we lost to a top 12 LSU team in overtime at the Hump. There were maybe 3,000 people there. Think a packed house could have made the difference? I do.
There were maybe 10,000 people at the Kansas State football game earlier this year when we were winning by 4 in the 3rd quarter. Think a packed house could have changed the outcome ?
The fan base refuses to show up, and then goes batshit crazy when we lose close games. It's really baffling to me.

Agree. Howland is what he is. And we probably cant get better. Yea we might get a better floor coach, but he wont recruit nearly as well and the result will be the same. Howland will never be a great floor coach, his offenses often times look like there simply isnt one. He relies heavily on player leadership. I think we have it but it gonna take time to mesh. For the record i think this team makes the tournament as a 7-9 seed.

You can’t take a step back like this one year after making the tournament. You have to build on it and at least get back the next year. If he doesn’t, he should go. Would you keep a coach who goes to one bowl every five years? No.
