Man, what an icon he was to us that grew up in the 70s and 80s. He made some classics.

Not gonna lie.... I had a man crush on Burt. The dude rocked. Loved most of his movies, not the least of which being Boogie Nights. One of the best movies I ever saw.

Cannonball Run is probably my favorite BR movie. But The Longest Yard, Deliverance, Smokey And the Bandit, Best Little Whorehouse and Boogie Nights are all fantastic.

Burt was an idol of mine growing up. I loved his charisma and wanted to be like him. We have the same laugh and my friends call him my dad lol.

RIP, Bandit.

Fun fact most of the bad guys in deliverance were cast from my area. The man bad guy “squeal like a pig” still lives in my town and I’ve met him on occasion. No joke he had a few pet squirrels and he takes them everywhere
