Good weight or bad weight?

Just because they're big doesn't mean they're good... We'll know more in a few weeks.
Too many variables between players for this stat to mean much to me. OL is way more about their conditioning, technique, what is between their ears and their ability to move their feet than a 10 lb difference to be that big thing that matters.

What's crazy to me is that under Croom, Moorhead and Lebby, our players look fat and injury prone. Under Mullen and Leach, they looked in shape. In modern day, S&C, I really don't see how there's THAT level of difference. Not sure if it's diet or what.
And it's not all about running, because Croom ran his guys' assses off. And Leach didn't hardly run at all, outside of actual practice reps, he made them do that rolling stuff.
Ah hell if we don't let em eat a bunch of eggs before the game they'll be aight .
Not positive, but I feel like Mullen and Leach were both more likely to take guys that were not ready for SEC play because they were too light than not ready for SEC play because they were too fat. But I think it's just how hard your are coached.
And I think running is basically irrelevant to looking fat. Not sure how good it is for preparing you for game play, but hard to run fat off your body, at least to the point of making you look muscular. May be ok for running excess fat off that still leaves you looking fat if you aren't comparing before and after pictures.
We had the smallest OL when Lebby got here, and they got eaten alive, it's good to be fat and racing cars again!
I would say that is pretty good company. Don't know what it will translate to on the field though....
So the heaviest P4 OL (UT) compared to the lightest P4 OL (UCF, which I guess is a P4 school) is a little more than 9.5% bigger. That doesn't seem like as huge spread. I guess a 28 lb difference is significant all else being equal. And I guess 9.5% is still pretty massive when you are talking about averages and not individual players. But still somewhat surprised it's that low.
That's surprising to me that these average weights aren't about 20 pounds heavier than they are. I would have thought about 20 lbs heavier.
Belly fat is different than just being fat all over. Dead weight. Gets in the way of leg lift which limits mobility. A plain scale weight means little, but I would rather be oversized than under.
Maybe if they’re fat but maybe they’re bulked up too. You can’t judge any of that by just a number.
As with most of the BS on the internet these days, I question the accuracy.
First, I suspect this is just pulling an average of all players listed as OL on a roster, not just starters.

It doesn't say "fattest". It says "heaviest". Muscle weighs more than fat, so they say.
Point is, I have no idea, and neither do you or the rest of these dummies around here.
It’s an account that tweets stuff it thinks is fun. Like ranking SEC schools by farthest/closest distance from a Waffle House.
I promise they’re not cross referencing against participation charts for scientific accuracy.

Should be in top 10.
