We all seen plenty of threads where **** worked out for former Huskers.

On the other hand, Luke McCaffery continues to suck hard as a QB at Rice.

Seems like it doesn't matter to him that he sucks so hard, as long as he gets to play QB.

Really wish we had better analytical analytics to determine if a kid is about the team or themselves before we get them here.

there is a 3rd way, where you don't have to be all about yourself or the team..
you could be both.

meaning you show up to a team and take a redshirt year, to understand what your doing..
learn the playbook, get school stuff in order, etc...

seems like players don't understand, they don't need to chase the nfl..if they are good enough the nfl will come to them. like lets say smoothers was a diva and had to play right away....he goes out there half assed, gets hurt, now he's screwed...and did'nt really help himself or the team out. maybe a redshirt year would of helped martinez out as far as throwing off the right foot and decisions instead of going directly into the fire. (understanding because riley built 0 depth at qb he was required to play right away).

I guess every 18 year old thinks they are tom brady, but the numbers don't say that...says quite the opposite.

I said all along we shouldn't have wasted a redshirt on him. Putting him at receiver would have at least given us another option besides AM and Wandale as our only threats.

I’m wondering if we will see more redshirts now with NIL. There were a lot of times money was the draw for the NFL. Now, if you are good enough, you can probably get a NIL deal worth as much or more than a rookie paycheck

I think this stems from Frost being an athlete who played QB.. so he's going to be absolutely biased about what he thinks will make a good QB.

I'm sure he saw AM's natural ability and his eyes popped out of his head.. the problem is, you need other attributes too, the right mix of them, and this is something Frost isn't going to be very objective about.

Having said all that, he has recruited 2 throwing QB's or more pro style guys, the last 2 classes who can still run.

I"m not sure it is a wholesale change for him or not, but we need guys who can reliably pass the football. I'd still take a dual threat guy, but only if he can really pass.

Most dual threats out there are runners who can throw the football 50 yards.. they aren't really dual threats at all.

Back in Scott's day, we probably threw 10 passes all game, so that formula worked okay. In this offense, even "running" plays can be swing passes, so you really need a guy who can throw the ball first, and who can distribute it quickly and make good decisions.

We don't know enough about the last 2 recruits, but I believe HH has a high ceiling.

Yep. Some are winners, some are not. There are a lot of examples with basically every team where some guys are just winners and although they don't show it in practice, when the lights come on they shine. Adrian just isn't one of those guys all of the time. It's one thing to have a bad game, but the stats show us what Adrian is and that is a losing QB.

(Most, not all)
