I agree with everything you said in your prior post.
I guess we disagree about the impact of 48 straight sellouts, a bunch on national tv games and 2 top 5 picks. All good..
None of that will matter next year and beyond.

Pike is on a 6 year downward spiral stamped by a historic collegiate season of under 500 and missing the NCAA tournament with 2 top NBA playersAgree major failure. Team sucked. We agree.

Nah the draft will just make people wonder why Rutgers was so bad when Ace and Dylan get drafted in top 5.Everything I’ve said is true. Year with most exposure. Huge sellout streak. And exposure will only get greater in Summer during draft.
I gotta know…are you related to Pikiell? What is the basis for your blind optimism?I disagree. We’ll see.
I disagree. We’ll see.
You make zero sense and talk out of both sides of your mouth.
I’m done here.
This is probably the most disappointing season since Quincy Douby's sophomore year in 2004-05, when Rutgers finished 10-19. I don't know if it was Covid hurt recruiting, NIL hurt recruiting, assistant doing a piss poor job, combination of all of it between 2021-2023. JMike is the only player left in those last 3 classes led to this inconsistent year of very little cohesive play and chemistry on the floor. Literally, 12 strangers on the floor with very little success of finding successfull rotations of players
Half the people of this board were convinced Dylan and Ace would shut it down 2 months ago. Don't mistake bad play for lack of effort. Too many freshman and transfers that didn’t fit. They never gelled but they also never gave up.Are you referring to the season or tonight? Either way the second half effort tonight proved that this team had more to give throughout the season (and in the first half), but simply didn’t do it. I rarely saw a team this season that “poured all they had into it”.
Effort wasnt there most of the year.Half the people of this board were convinced Dylan and Ace would shut it down 2 months ago. Don't mistake bad play for lack of effort. Too many freshman and transfers that didn’t fit. They never gelled but they also never gave up.
Why would anyone in the portal want to play for this ****ing idiot of a coach?
You will only get D3 bums who think they're Shawn Kemp
When guys don’t know what they are doing, it looks like lack of effort. Example… Somerville battled tonight and played extremely hard. He struggled switching and hedging on screens, which allowed easy layups. I never questioned his effort but mentally he has to catch up. He’s only a freshman. He will figure it out.Effort wasnt there most of the year.
It takes a few seasons to get 3-star players to mature and be successful in a system. That doesn't work in this new environment.Recruiting has never been pikes success. He’s proven he can beat 5-star laden teams with 3-star players who work hard and want to be here. That’s what he has to get back to
An elite coach would have figured out how to win more than 15 games with two 1st round draft picks as starters. But but but… the post game announcers said he’s an “elite” coach!![]()
Somerville played hard on offense today but he’s all about points. Picking up fouls by playing D puts him on the bench,When guys don’t know what they are doing, it looks like lack of effort. Davis was worse. Played many more minutes with nothing more than that to show for it.0 points 0 rebounds for both dercack and martini
Not true. Leaving that switch was a mental error not a tactic to reduce fouls. Come on.Somerville played hard on offense today but he’s all about points. Picking up fouls by playing D puts him on the bench,
Not playing D does not. He knows what he’s doing.
I’m not talking about a specific play. He hasn’t played D all year. He never helps and just lets the offense go by him rather than exert effort or risk a foul. In other years, he would have been pulled. This year was a free-for-all with no accountability for actions or lack of effort on the court. Not true. Leaving that switch was a mental error not a tactic to reduce fouls. Come on.
Just a bad team…
Looking forward to next year!

What 5-star high school senior would ever commit with Pike, knowing they may never play in the dance. Harper and Ace will be drafted in spite of the horrible season, but Pike and RU will get no credit for their success. These guys may get less money than they would have, had they played for a program that made the NCAA tourney.Everything I’ve said is true. Year with most exposure. Huge sellout streak. Both have asthma. I don't think either of them have completely figured out how to manage it yet. They will, but it will take a little more time. I wouldn't be surprised if it's still a bit of an issue for both as rookies in the NBA.Why was Dylan and Ace always gassed all season?? Conditioning was noticeably sub par..

It’s just like Robbie Hummel said when they finally woke up in the second half, he commented that RU’s effort was turning the game in the second half with the pressing defense was but then he said “what took them so long?” Story of this season as we would see random spurts of 5-10 minutes of good effort and good play but that good stretch was either preceded and/or followed by 10-15 minutes of lackadaisical, sleepy, and sloppy play. We saw this all year, short flashes of good play outweighed by longer stretches of poor defense, poor interior defense and rebounding and just poor play. 15-17 did not happen by accident, due to bad luck or conspiracies…..15-17 happens for a reason.Effort wasnt there most of the year.
On campus is a far cry from committingWe had a 5-star on campus yesterday. So some will.
78 selloutsProgram is fine. Best season for the “program” in a while. So much exposure. 48 straight sellouts. Program is fine
Did he commit?
On campus? With the team out at the Big Ten? Makes no sense. We had a 5-star on campus yesterday. So some will.
Funny, but I can recall reading post after post last year at this same time saying exactly the same thing. So, now 2 years in a row and next year looking like a complete rebuild again. Not goodJust a bad team…
Looking forward to next year!
Maybe with better coaching they would have been first team all B1G.So tired of hearing about TWO TOP 5 PICKS.
That may be the future.
BUT This year we had two 3rd team all B10 players. Thats it. No other reference is relevant to the RU season.
And very little around 3rd team college talent, talent wise, toughness wise or bball IQ wise.
He's maddening. So unathletic. But somehow can get the ball in the hoop though. Then will try to put ball on floor from 15 ft and it's a disaster. Doesn't make anybody better. Lost on defense.Somerville played hard on offense today but he’s all about points. Picking up fouls by playing D puts him on the bench,
Not playing D does not. He knows what he’s doing.
