I guarantee every one of those that didn't get 5+ yards had people whining about play-calling.

man, how far away from this are we?

I agree. Remember when we could wear these cool things? I miss jorts and starter jackets.

I miss a good RB more than the i-form
People are too fixated on where the blocker lines up. We use our TEs like fullbacks by putting them in motion to the side of the run. It's just different. Chancellor Brewington and Vokolek both bring a fullback mentality when you put them in motion to block for a run play.

I can't remember the last time I wore shorts in public. Nobody wants to see my bony blinding white chicken legs anymore. Sucks to get old.

How far away are we you ask?? We are 7 years removed from a good coach and player developer who demanded an IDENTITY on offense. It didn't matter if if was starter innthe offensive line or a WALK ON......you one what we were going to do.

Maybe we can get another coach like Pelini in Lincoln and maybe this time the Administration, the MEDIA and few thousand "fair weather" fans would would leave him the *** ALONE and appreciate it!!

See here is the deal. Back in the 90s it was cool to wear that stuff. But now, if you do you are an old man that is out of style. But if you are young, you are cool and it is OK.

Something about recycling trends and if you lived it once, you can't be in style living it the second time through.

There is your fashion tip for the day!

I thought the big knock on Pelini was that we never had an identity? Yeah, that clip looks like we had one, but those were 22 of 50ish plays. NU hasnt had a consistent offensive identity since 2003. But man, how I wish we had that complimenting our offense right now

The "big knock" on Pelini was that he was a lunatic on the sidelines and got blown out in the games that mattered

please stay on topic. This is a fashion and trend thread. No football allowed.

But on your topic. people don't just want a full back. They want QB under center with I formation and fullback. Because, well that is what we ran when we were good. Hats on hats from different position can be much more effective as you don't always know where the blocker is starting from. And to your point, dudes like Brewington and Vokolek act just like FBs.

Guys who like a fullback lead blocking should love a TE earholing a linebacker or DE. It's just a different way to lead block. The issue for us hasn't been the lead block, it's been our OTs getting blown up at the LOS.

Why don't you look at the offensive stats, points and RUSHING TOTALS during his years

You must not have been a Nebraska fan very long then. From 2010 thru 2014 Nebraska ranked in the Top 16 rushing offenses every year. Top 10 most of those years as a matter of fact.

You don't have All Americans and All Conference players like Roy Helu, Rex Burkhead and Ameer Abdullah without having an identity, an eye for talent, good recruiting and great coaching.

And Tim Beck is why we got all of those RBs other than Helu. Randy Jordan and Callahan recruited Helu. BTW, Randy Jordan is the RB coach for the Redskins I believe.

Your love affair with Pelini is odd. Even if it was conceded that Pelini should not have been fired, he still wouldn't have been here now. And likely not more than one more year than he was. He hated it here. That was clear. He challenged his boss to fire him on national TV the year before. He came within millimeters of smacking a ref in the face with his hat in a fit of uncontrolled rage. He pissed himself on the sidelines.

He would have jumped at the first opportunity. And then we would have been one year delayed in where we are now.

So wth difference does it make if anyone believes he should or shouldn't have been fired?

And please don't come back with "well he is better than what we have now". Well no ****. Frost sucking in no way makes Bo Pelini better than he was.

Actually one more year of pelini would have been good since we likely avoid Riley and have a better 2015 season.

Hey what's with your hatred of those years and that coach??! Someone asked a question and I ANSWERED IT.

You have a problem with FACTS or do you just like the LIARS who pose on this board??? Don't argue with me when I'm spitting FACTS and I'm not gone cower to you either.

Now it's plenty other fake bs and lies on this and other threads. Do yourself a favor and challenge them if you bout it bout it. Im going to win because you cant lose with FACTS

I didn't hate Bo. I thought he had a loose nut and could on any occasion cause the university serious embarrassment. He clearly had anger issues and I firmly believe given enough time those issues would have caused a serious enough problem that he would have been fired. At least if he wouldn't have quit first for any opportunity he could find.

Whether you like it or not Bo was a disgrace in the media and national NCAA football fans. And even many Nebraska fans.

But you keep setting up strawman arguments.

You must live in NEBRASKA and talk to only Nebraska people taking turns sipping red Kool aid and blowing smoke up each other's ASSES.

I live on the other side of the country where millions of other teams fans reside and they laugh at how stupid we were to this day! I have Hurricane and Bulldog fans who ask why did we fire the coach that beat us and i tell them what the dummies in Lincoln thought and they just shake their heads.

I tell them don't worry bout me I haven't felt pain in a Nebraska loss since 2014....this **** is funny to me!

Let's get back to facts as opposed to anecdotal evidence.

After leaving NU Bo coached at Youngstown with one good year and failed the rest. Then he left or was pushed out and went to LSU. That didn't go well when he gave up a one game SEC passing yard record against Miss State and 96 points in his first 3 games which was an LSU record. Ultimately he was fired.

Bo is currently not coaching. And has had no success since leaving Nebraska.

So go on and tell me more about how successful Bo was and would have been.

Bo didn't demand an identity. Bo was the first coach we had where people started bitching about lack of identity because he wanted to be "multiple".

Cally before Bo had an identity....people just didn't like it.

The only way Bo would still be here today in 2021 is if Cally had hired him as DC.

Bo could not recruit enough talent. Did fine with it if you brought it to him (and Cally could have done that) but even absent the temper tantrums Bo wouldn't have lasted another season or two with what he was bringing in.
