Re Thompson. I was running errands Saturday morning and had the radio on a local sport talk show hosted by longtime local NOLA sports guys. They raved about Thompson and by their descriptions, he sounded like Dak II. As talented a player as he is, Thompson may be as impressive off the field as on it. Boys, we are getting a bigtime recruit. These sports guy half-heartedly tried to make a case for Sling Blade to go in there an advocate for lsu, all the while recognizing the track record Mullen has with developing QB's.
Comparison to the in-state 5-star...
Keytaon Thompson 6'-4" 225 lbs
Passing: 182 of 304, 3,522 yards, 41 TD's, 59.9%, 19.4 YPC
Rushing: 129 carries, 1,264 yards, 25 TD's, 9.8 YPC
Cam Akers 6'-0" 215 lbs
Passing: 172 of 280, 3,128 yards, 31 TD's, 61.4%, 18.2 YPC
Rushing: 242 carries, 2,105 yards, 34 TD's, 8.7 YPC
Thompson still has a championship game to play in this weekend. This could be a huge reason for Mullen to stay in StarkVegas for a while longer. I'll take Dak 2.0 or even a Lamar Jackson clone. Imagine if we could somehow lure Akers with Thompson. That would be entertaining to say the least.

After Fitz rewrites the record books, it will be nice to have someone rewrite them again. Setting the bar high.
This is the most important part to Mullen. He likes them big and durable.
