17 all this negativity. Post some good news, either related to you or something you’ve heard/read about.

Mine is big for me personally. Let me just say that God is good. If you don’t believe in God, then let’s just say sometimes the universe gets it right. 2 days ago I was planning on telling my 10 employees that they were being laid off. I was going to accept a job starting in June and my business was going to close. Today was going to be a sad meeting. Then yesterday I got word that my PPP has been approved. An hour later, we got paid on a contract that was even bigger than the PPP loan/grant. Suddenly, the phones at the office started ringing again. It was truly unbelievable. Post more good news!

Hell yeah man. Congrats on that. My yard is coming along. I’m in phase 2 of a 3 phase backyard landscaping project and so far I’ve done a great job.
ETA: And my putting green just arrived 3 days early.

Yard looking good, have had some time to baby it.
Learned how to weld during Covid. Third bead looked pretty good, I could get good at this ****.
Split enough wood to keep our fire pit going for couple years.
Daughter thought she would be laid off any moment, but opened her area back up. She’s glad; I’m thankful I have cheerens who show than if given the choice, they’d rather have the satisfaction of working to earn their pay than receiving handouts.
Bathroom remodel nearly complete. Maybe I’ll get laid now.
I really pushed hard for a urinal behind the door, but the wife stood her ground at the end. But I did do something else not on the approved list just to keep it interesting. I ain’t as good as I once was,...

It's a shame you even have to advertise that title (sigh). But very good message and thanks for sharing.

It's good to take a break from the never-ending Nafoom-esque depression therapy session, bad statistics class, and free-after-rebate financial seminar from the Sages of StarkVega$ that SPS has become.

I'm getting regular unemployment checks. No stimulus money yet though. Yard is looking better. New roof goes on tomorrow.

My college-aged child decided, on her own, that it would be useful to expand her knowledge into areas about which she is interested, but had never taken the time to study. She enrolled herself in a multi-week, online course, without her parents' knowledge, and has been moving through the curriculum at night while her parents' lazy asses have been asleep. This is a child who has never excelled academically. Strangely enough, this pandemic **** really got her attention about finding something about which one is passionate. Starting to see some focus and maturity that has been too long in coming.

My fiance just moved from Indiana to VA to live with me (we were more than cautious/followed guidelines for everything for those wondering). Went through a rough divorce a couple years ago and learned some hard lessons on what kind of junk I'm willing to take. Never been this happy in a relationship.

Congrats eagle. Make sure to capitalize on your efforts. My good news is almost the exact opposite.

There has been a complete 180 degree career change I have been wanting to make for years, but I never took the leap. Turns out getting shoved off the cliff was the first step forward and I am not going back. No more travel... No more high stress all or nothing deals to worry about. No more chasing receivables...

I got a call from a headhunter yesterday wondering if I might have interest with a big firm in my old field and I said hell no.

From the looks of things state will have classes back on campus again this fall. I cannot express how badly I want to be back in Starkville and in college, have fallen in love with the place even more since finally enrolling.

Son and daughter-in-law coming down from Atlanta to visit for 4 days. First time to see them since before Christmas. This is going to be so good.

We're upgrading windows in the house, and they came in today and will be installed next week. That's the good news. The bad news is that the bottom of a box broke (was just stapled) as they were unloadiing the truck, and one window broke. They're special order, so a new one will have to be ordered and it'll be several weeks.

Get to see my Mom on her Birthday and Mother’s Day (same day) and will get to see my kids in TN soon. That makes me happy.

This sunshine is what Dr ordered too!

I’ve still got my job, a 3 month old son at home and a hot wife. With no sports going on I’ve formed this weird obsession with flowers and I’ve been working in the yard a lot planting them and taking care of them. I spend most of my time at work researching them and learning about them so I’ve formed a new hobby which is cool I guess.

Not to sound all Steve Harvey-ish,

But I'm very thankful to have kept my job thusfar and have been able to WFH full time. I'm also very thankful that I've gotten to spend alot of time at home with my 2-yr old son. They grow so fast at this age, and being at home has allowed me to watch him learn new things that I generally would have missed when he's at daycare every day.

Over my lunch hour, I dropped an old road bike frame off at a powdercoater to be redone.

2 weeks ago I stripped the paint and worked with my 13yo to silver braze some cable guides onto the frame. That was...an experience.
Once the frame is powdercoated, I'll work with both kids to build it up from the frame. Lots of grease, metric wrenching, and adjusting!

Really excited to get into the weeds of this with them.
I've already set up two homeschool research projects based on this- understanding gearing ratios and applying Newtons laws of motion.

Been saving up for a major major purchase. Got greedy back in late February and decided to sink half into the stock market. Of course I lost half in a matter of three weeks. I was scared what my wife would say about me losing several thou.. Anyway I doubled down and bought the dip around March 26 and now I’m even again. Relief! Very grateful to the financial gods for giving me a second chance. Now what?

Sounds great. I think everyone here can relate to having a hot wife at home and therefore...spending time...researching flowers...and working...in the...yard...

My garden is nearly completely up (only lacking my watermelons and cantaloupes) and looking great. Fruit trees (peach, blueberry, pear) are loaded and coming along great. Finally been able to cut some hay. Everybody in our immediate family is healthy. Baseball team hasn't lost a weekend series in a while...wait, nevermind.

My kids’ daycare opens Monday, and since I own my own business... I don’t have to go in the office cause my employees are doing what little work we have. It’ll be like a vacation at home.

I got to go to work today and make a little money. Left work at 3, and I just caught 2 bass with my son in the boat. It’s a beautiful afternoon, and the bream are nailing crickets every cast from the bank as well.

Well about a week ago I had the widow maker, thankfully when I had it, it was in the ambulance on the way to the hospital and again twice on the surgery table at the hospital.
Thankfully I wasn’t stubborn enough on that day to delay calling 911 since I was at home by myself.
Had I waited another 15 min for the wife to get home, I would not be typing this.
