So far they've added a mid-major star in Edwards. A 6ft 11 guy who will be in his 2nd year under Kelsey and a player who has taken 794 shots from 3 in his 3 seasons and made 37% including 39% last season in 284 attempts.

Not bad for a guy who has been on the job for a week or so. Granted, 2 of those players transfered with him, but they liked him enough to move to UL with him.

UL has a good brand and history with a young energetic coach. If they can load up on talented experienced portal players playing with something to prove, program can turn around quick.

Maybe our coach will take note but doubtful.

Nah. Your original point was that our staff is competent enough to add portal players. They clearly aren't. They waited until June 26th last year, and only landed Mitchell due to Huggins' DUI.

There's already a precedent of Cal sucking in the portal. Now that he might have guys like DJ and Edwards taking their time, it probably gets even worse.

So yeah, it might be until June or July again before we land a commitment. That's 60 to 90 days from now, by the way. Might want to rethink your position of downplaying last year's portal disaster followed by the act of God from Huggins.

My position? What’s my position? I just said we will get a portal player by July. That’s all. But it’s not crazy to get any kid late btw. We grabbed Murray in mid to late June. Was that also incompetent?

It’s gotten to where a person cannot have any sort of thought without being subjected to tribalism. So me stating that we won’t wait until July to grab a portal kid automatically means I’m defending cal. Seems that way. I have very little faith in cal today. But I’m willing to change my mind if new evidence is presented. I’m very much a rationalist.
