I would've said this even if we had lost. Good game to you. Hard fought game.

I checked the score with six minutes to go and thought "it's been a good season." Well, in any case, you guys had one hell of a team this year. Monk and Fox are future studs and you'll be reloaded for next year.

I know I'll probably catch some flak just for posting here. But I have no ill will regardless. It was a hell of a game.

Your team cheats. Not interested in your charity. You're classless, and I know that based solely on the team you CHOOSE to associate with. You're a joke. Have a terrible night.

Serious question. How can you support a filthy cheating program like that? They have been dirty for two decades and evaded justice like well funded drug lords. NC has spent millions trying to deflect and evade their judgement. I'm frankly ashamed we sullied ourselves by taking the floor. Had we won it would have been tainted, given our opponent shouldn't have been competing in the first place.

Look, I know you guys are pissed at us for that whole thing, but you act as if my rooting for the Heels is some form of worshiping the Devil.

I was a kid when I saw UNC beat Illinois in 2005. I had no idea of any scandal and no one else did either. Something about them appealed to me as Kentucky did to you.

It's not like I heard about the academic scandal, and THEN decided to root for UNC. I loved Roy, Dean, and all the players that had come through. And for the record, I don't think we're innocent of anything, but I'm not going to stop rooting for my team regardless.

And you guys harping on us for NCAA violations is the pot calling the kettle black. You guys aren't/weren't saints and neither are we. I'm just surprised at some of the viciousness I've received.

How could you have possibly thought UK fans wanted to hear from you tonight?

You just (selfishly) wanted to hear people say "wow man, CLASSY post!" and pat yourself on the back for it.

And you know that's the truth.

Lol. This thread is awesome. After going to the U.K.-UNC game in Vegas this year and witnessing how lousy the UK fans are in victory I couldn't be happier to read this. I'm sure the 3 tools that sat in front of me are on this board and to them I'd like to say "I hope you enjoyed your championship in December". Because that's what it was. I give you guys credit for traveling well and supporting your team. Too bad the majority of your fan base acts just like your head coach. Funny that you guys accuse us of cheating. Wait til Calipari leaves and you guys go on probation like UMass and Memphis. There's a reason he left those schools with his tail between his legs and both schools were reprimanded. He's a rat scumbag. And you KNOW THIS......MAN. Now get over yourselves, stop crying about the refs (even though you all say you never cry about the refs) and take the loss like D'aaron Fox did. He's a class act, a credit to his folks. I wish him and the other players luck in the NBA next year. It's a talented bunch. We'll enjoy Luke Maye for another 2 years.

This from the school that had Jordan for 3 years and won one title. Also had Perkins and Worthy on those teams as Sophs and Jr's. Only Dean Smith could fail like that with that much talent. [roll][roll][roll]

Roy retires in a month and your program goes into a decade-long funk.

No one left in the Carolina tree to find as a coach. Gonna have to hire someone like Gregg Marshall.

Have fun with that. Better hope you win it all in a week. UNC's slump is about to be significant.

This is the type of pent up anger that comes from taking a backseat to Kentucky as a program for the last 80 years. Must suck to always know the program you support is inferior and that the real flagship program of college basketball is Kentucky (not even close, really). I don't even begrudge you for this post, genuinely feel bad because that really must suck.

Worthy played one year with Jordan.....and he won a title that one year. You're talking about only winning one title "with all that talent" how about calipari? Pays for the #1 recruiting class every year and has 1 title to show for it. Easily the 2nd most underachieving coach in the past decade behind Sean Miller. i feel bad for Bam. Not sure why he chose UK. Poor guy just battled for rebounds all year only to get 3 plays called for him a game. Underutilized fo sho.

Funny how a program with a prior death sentence on its record.....with a coach that has tainted his last 2 programs by cheating can talk smack about another program that's under investigation. It's hilarious. Cal will leave UK weeks before the program gets in trouble, again, and do the same thing at another school. #inevitable

The flagship program that:

In 1952, long before the concept of a repeat violator had surfaced, the NCAA imposed its first-ever de facto death penalty on one of the most illustrious programs in any sport: the University of Kentucky basketball team.
Kentucky had won the national championship in both 1948 and 1949, going a combined 68-5 under legendary head coach Adolph Rupp. Seven of those Wildcats were selected in the NBA draft, including Alex Groza who was the second overall pick in 1949 and the rookie of the year.

Two years later, Groza and two of his Kentucky teammates were arrested for having shaved points in a 1949 postseason game. A judge singled out Rupp and the university administration for "covert subsidization of players, cribbing at examinations, illegal recruiting, matriculation of unqualified students and demoralization of the athletes by the coach. In other words, everything we've come to expect from big-time college sports in the ensuing decades.

The NCAA banned Kentucky from fielding a basketball team for the 1952-53 season, and banned the school's other sports teams from postseason play. Meanwhile, the NBA commissioner barred the offending players for life, which cost Groza a chance at a Hall of Fame career. Somewhere between irony and coincidence, 60 years later Kentucky is the defending NCAA Division I basketball champion. The current coach hasn't been charged with any violations, but is bemoaned by his contemporaries for gaming the system and exploiting players, six of whom, in an eerie parallel, were selected in this year's NBA draft.

Your school has been placed on probation in THREE different decades. I'm comparing a liftetime of cheating (UK) to one time cheating (UNC). 3 times cheating >>>>>>>> 1 time. I'm sure we will get sort of punishment if what they say is true. We deserve it. Just like you deserved being on probation THREE different times in three different decades. Can't wait til Cal goes down and you get #4

it's not a touchy subject for us. We haven't been placed on probation multiple times nor have we received a death penalty. UK has. Caliparis previous teams have. That's what we know. That has happened. It's not make believe. Own it. I'll own it if/when we get hit with penalties. Don't act as if UK isn't the most penalized program in college hoops history. Is this guy for real? UNC is an embarrassment, your own investigations have stated such. I forgot what the total dollar amount UNC spent on lawyers and PR firms to drag this out and weasel their way out of it, something like 30 million dollars. They have pretty much fired the whole administration, and the worst part about it is a whole department was created to scam young black men out of an education to profit off of them. I hope UNC burns to the ground and a tornado carries the ashes out to sea, that wouldn't even be justice enough for the lives UNC has ruined, not only their own students and players but all the other students and players from other teams that got beat by UNC over the years. Choke on a dick and F off.

My behavior is nothing compared to the poor sportsmanship that I encountered at the UNC UK game in December. That is why I'm here. Leaving T-Mobile arena after enjoying one of the best games I've ever watched, I was walking with my wife and was harassed multiple times by groups of UK fans. One fan, that had 2 brown teeth screamed at my wife (who isn't even a UNC fan) while spewing spit out of his mouth. I'm sure you'll all love that. Feels much better to win in March than it does to win in December.
