I was wondering why he was getting playing time after looking good for us last season.

Ready for the. "Good, he's a cancer" vs. "Unacceptable, the coaches are failing", debate to start.

Not a premium member, but in reading the tweets to Sean C linked above, I assume they gave a reason why. Atleast that's my interpretation of it when I read " that would explain..." and "have had several chances"....… Too early to tell us freeloaders??

We will miss his four tackles contribution dearly

Dude was lights out last season though when he wasn't injured.

I've been wondering where the heck he's been this year, and why the hell Alex Davis is still starting over him. Guess there most be a reason.... Probably a good one. But damn, huge head scratcher this year for sure.

Wish him the best.

Can only guess with 3 games left, he was part of the "isn't buying in" talk we all hear about.

I mean its not good news, but 4 tackles on the season, so are we really gonna miss him?

I would assume dismissed from team means something more serious than he wasn't cutting it. He must have violated rules.

Multiple times. He could have helped us this year. I don't like the term "buy in" but this seems pretty clearly a case of a guy who wasn't doing things the right way.

My hypothesis: He didn't like the attention that the new blackshirts were getting and he started swinging helmets...... Too soon? Too much? I am sure the RSS will let me know!

From what I had heard he was ready to move on from football and start with his career. Probably was a mutual thing.

Lights out? Even at his best, he was no better than average.

Maybe he was just missing all his fellow recruits from Edna Karr HS - Glen Irons, Javeon Walton, Jariah Tolbert - that made little/no impact on the program.

You gotta love that New Orleans talent pipeline. Stanley Morgan got in trouble, but finished at least finished his career strong. But the rest-- Jefferson, Ferguson, Tolbert, Walton, Irons-- wow.

Not unexpected if you follow reputable posters on this and other boards.

Can't get mad at Frost about this one.

I remember Frost weeks back saying he was finally healthy and would be helping us but he still didn't get playing time.

He may not have been the definition of "lights out" but I remember Ferguson being one of our better defenders towards the end of last season. To follow up last year with hardly any playing time and only 4 tackles is sad!

I'm looking forward to finally seeing a post or update was some good news. We are due!!

No kidding on needing some kind of good news. Over the past 5 weeks:

- no football wins
- no recruit commits
- 1 decommit at position of need
- injuries at key positions
- player departures
- Husker hoops 0-2 with home losses to directional schools
- Enough bitching/moaning/fighting on the message board to last a lifetime

I remember Frost making a direct point yesterday that the "vast" majority of the team cared about each other and cared about doing things right, but it wasn't everybody. I thought that was a weird comment and now we see that he is cleaning people out, especially seniors. It is hard to be a senior, to be marginalized, and treated like you are the weakest link on the team, and then play hard against the best teams on the schedule. The 2007 team had 27 seniors who were contributors and they nearly all quit by the end.

Ehhh, not a huge fan of this with only 3 weeks left. Shoot, even just suspend him for the last 3 games (unless he really wants to be gone, which he might) but if not, let the kid finish.

He is trying to be into real estate and goofy crap like that, I think he forced their hand from an NCAA eligibility standpoint.

Four tackles? That's gotta be a misprint.........I don't think our OLB's have 4 tackles collectively!

goofy crap like making a living

unlike the SEC, where rumor has it players are set for life, he plays in the B1G and sees the writing on the wall.

Yeah it's so hard out there in Lincoln for former players...
One just hopes the guy is successful in life going forward no matter how he leaves the program. He's young and young people tend to make more mistakes than old farts. Hope he does well. Adios amigo.
