True. The thread I am venting about had no signs of change. And it went like 20 pages. Someone had enough lol.

Haha you know that's another thing about this whole thing. No one is changing anyone's opinion on this no matter what thread is up. If you like Cal, there's no thread that you are going to read and think "welp u know what, my mind is changed I want that guy gone". Conversely if you hate Cal, there's nothing convincing people to suddenly start liking the guy.

Maybe I'm just getting old and don't want to argue anymore, but it always seems like a pointless debate lol. Cal is here, games will be played, everyone will cheer lol. At some point Cal will be gone. And UK basketball will still be here.

Of course you are right. But, not everyone is cheering. Getting off point lol. I’m pissed at a, the, some, mods. Don’t know how things work on this site, but it’s off the rocker. Something isn’t Kosher.

You’re right. But he is not staying after next season if the results aren’t up to par. No way.
And what support do you have for that statement? Who was the last person you recall that left so many million just laying on the table?

I suspect the thing that induces him to leave will be health related. Another consideration is that with NIL and the Portal, its not clear just what coach will thrive in this stinking morass of player acquisition. Looking at it from a pure management standpoint, the current coach is compliant with his contract, keeps the program clean, keeps the program respectable as least by reasonable standards though maybe its not up to crazed lunatic expectations. The sport is now semiprofessional and that means that historical points of view are utterly meaningless. So you wait and see who and what works for some years before you make a massive investment. The buyout is probably less than half of the required funds by the time you consider costs of a new coach, new staff and new players (yeah, you gotta pay for them too).

In the meantime, its fun to watch all the unsupported babble about this situation. One thing I'm pretty certain about. Nobody here has even one clue about what is on his mind or the university's mind either.

The fire Cal thread was up for a long time.Nothing was said about it until a poster begged the mods to remove it.Next thing ya know...poof,it was gone.
Sure, there are times things get personal in threads but check out a game thread if you want to read things getting personal.Im in favor of letting things play out amongst posters in threads but flat out censorship isn't the way to go either and it shouldn't be tolerated just because one has that power.

They do. Both are hypocritical.

The left cancels Chick Fil A. They claim it’s a righteous boycott. The right claims cancel culture.

The right cancels Bud Light. The right claims it’s a righteous boycott. The left claims cancel culture.

Both sides have done the same thing, but it’s only cancel culture if the other side cancels something one side likes.
In all fairness, the "right" hasn't made a single announcement vis-a-vis Bud Light. Their sales have simply plummeted.

Funny how some only see what they want (hypocrites). I cringe at Herrosheroes, but when a poster literally started a thread saying he has to go (cancel culture) many of the same people here harping about cancel culture we’re all over that thread begging for him to get cancelled. Funny to watch people act like their shat don’t stink.

Well I'm not into all that cancel culture ****.Im not even into the left side or the right side. Both are wrong and frankly,I could care less about people's political perceptions or affiliation...I care about the UK Men's basketball program since this is a UK basketball forum. All that other ******** people bring in here means nothing to me.

The guys who openly support Calipari at this point are mostly trolls and fans of other programs. There are a few UK fans who make cheering for Cal synonymous with cheering for Kentucky, and I get that argument. There are only about 6 or 7 of them left. The rest - like that sociopath Leadbelly - are basically the same two or three posters and they all hate Kentucky basketball.

I wish there could be legit conversation about it. I'm not happy with where program is but also do not think Cal is an awful coach, that is just crazy talk. I don't see how anyone thinks that.

The problem is if you defend Cal in any way shape or form you are labeled on this board and it makes it impossible to chat.

Cannot handle the people who use nicknames to mock our coach like they are in grade school. Embarrassing. Jmho

The people calling him names are angry for all kinds of reasons outside of UK basketball and use him as their whipping boy. Selfish and immature? Yes. But I'm glad they do it as it makes it easy to weed them out. It's like they are jumping up and down with a sign saying "Ignore me, I'm a mess and not a serious person!!" [laughing]

The world is soft now and cancel culture wins. I’ve legit been researching other countries to move to. I’m looking for something like America in the 90’s. If anyone has any suggestions, I’m very open. Prefer someplace that likes freedom.

I think we would all like to have legit conversation but as usual when it comes to Calipari, things escalate one way or the other.Look I'll gladly give him credit for a good job of coaching when he does it but I'll also criticize him when he doesn't The Calipari that came here in 2010 isn't the same Calipari we have today, everybody sees it but yet some live on what he did up to 2015.Id love to see him with that chip on his shoulder and not give a **** about who he has to satisfy but that's not who he is now.Regardless,it's all about putting the program first in my opinion, not changing generational poverty. The program should come first...always...regardless who the coach is.

There's nothing of interest anyway. Cal is done with his roster and we're gonna suck. Plain and simple. Time to give it a rest and let this place return to ghost town status.

You seen Gromcat ? He loves to say "Cowbois", "intellectually", etc.. etc.. just like you. Anyway, Saul is looking for you errrr uh him.

Gromcat sidelined and wants this place to be a ghosttown since he's idle.

Too dang funny.

I’ll tell you what’s funny, seeing a person like yourself that’s been banned for acting like a fool numerous times, getting on here and attempting to lecture people. It’s a dang shame they let you come back around.

America hasn't been the same since before 1861. Centralized federal government killed the country. We went from a federal republic to a centralized ''democracy''. Anyway, that's enough of my political views.

You don't have to believe me but i never even opened that thread. Had argument written all over it so i simply never clicked it. People are gonna find a way to argue no matter what thread it is so the deletion doesn't really seem like it helps anything. Unless people were going too far with their words in it. Like i said i have no clue but i could see that being part of it
We need a forum called GLOVES OFF. Once a thread crosses the point of no return you move it to GLOVES OFF and in this forum there is zero moderation. Or you just start your thread there. IT will be like the "Faces of Death or Rotten dot com" portion of the site, read at your own risk. If you cant settle it in the gloves off forum you meet at Keenland and have a duel in the infield.

Wouldn't work. There are some daisys here that would spend 22 hours a day there and they would say things that would require moderation so the site wouldn't get shut down and or sued. lol. The moderators would have to get referree outfits and work overtime.

Agreed. Although I still think I’d rather live in America in the 90’s than pre 1861 haha
