You’re right, Altidore has to finish that. He’s always been so frustrating to watch, he could have been a world class center forward but his finishing, especially in big games and when he was playing in the EPL, has always been subpar.
Mexico had the better team. At times our ball handling absolutely sucked, either a long kick downfield, kinda like a jump ball in basketball, or a lazy pass with a defender standing right in the middle. But the ref made a difference. I don't accuse him of taking sides, just being incompetent. Our guy is lying on the turf, and a Mexican walks over him and then just sits down on him. Ref does nothing, then in the followup one of them grabs one of our guys by the throat. Ref does nothing. Lots of obvious, deliberate, vicious fouling with no calls. His game needs to be reviewed and he needs to be canned.
