now that the tissues have been wetted..let us put them away..

5-2, ohio state next
1. each player needs to:
a. execute (do as coaches instruct)
b. leave all effort on feild
2. each coach needs to:
a. observe game, make changes when needed
b. remove players not following 1. a, & b.
3. each fan needs to:
a. support team thru all kinds of weather
b. understand reality of rebuild year 2, and not be overly dramatic / no political posts

if the above is applied things can only get better, and going forward will produce better results
each coach during these games should note, performance, depth chart and needed quantity and quality, for when the transfer portal opens.

Going forward into the Ohio State game we just need to try and not get humiliated again. Another total annihilating beatdown will have a terrible negative effect on team psychology. There will be a big danger of Rhule losing this team for the rest of the season. Looked to me like the defense just flat out gave up last week right after the failed first drive of the second half. And who can blame them? When Ohio State is up 21-0 by the end of the first quarter expect more of the same.

The key then going forward is to not let the coming OSU destruction destroy the rest of the season. This is where Rhule needs to earn those $millions. Come home from Columbus, lick our wounds for a day, then get ready to beat the **** out of UCLA at home to become bowl eligible. The remaining three games after that are winnable as well but probable losses in my opinion. 6-6 and bowl eligibility is progress from last year.

I totally agree I think the mental psyche and fortitude of the team is so fragile that the last game may have broke it. If they come out uninspired against UCLA they'll lose and badly. Rhule has to almost do what coaches are never supposed to do and that's look ahead to the next game. Psychologically he has to frame OSU as "playing with house money" and then build UCLA as our super bowl. Psychologically I feel like that's the only way the team gets bowl eligible.

Sad what it's come to, but I agree.

This is one of the first posts to actually talk about moving forward and beyond the last loss and its THURSDAY. I hope the team does not take on the psyche that the fans do and they have moved past it and been hard at work all week.

At this point, the challenge to the team should be to shut the fans up with their own play on the field.

IDK? But how we played after having 2 weeks to prepare is an abnormal abysmal abomination.

I don't think there is much chance that Rhule will lose his team after Ohio State because I believe that Rhule is a very good coach and those guys know how not to lose their team. Plus, it's Ohio State and we are 25 point underdogs. We're expected to lose. The players expect to lose. Having said that, what little confidence this team actually still has could be shattered. And that doesn't bode well for the last few games.

Rhule has always had the reputation for being a very good coach. He did not suddenly forget how to coach. But the team looks poorly coached right now and that is the bottom line. I'm not going to argue with anyone about Rhule. I'll just hope that things turn around and his loyal supporters can come out of hiding!
