According to the 10/22/19 Automotive News, early UAW voting......only 3 of 32 locals have reported......regarding ratification of the contract agreement with GM is running as follows:
  • YES 59.2% vs NO 40.8% among Production workers
  • YES 77.4% vs NO 22.6% among Skilled Trades workers
Biggest story thus far regarding the combined Production/Trades vote is Local 1853 in Spring Hill TN:
  • YES 1666 vs NO 1673
No other major locals have reported as yet. If you're wondering.....again according to TAN.....there are approximately 50,800 workers in total available to cast votes.

As of 10/25, the latest tally with a lttle better than 60% of the votes in:
  • Production YES 56.9% NO 43.1%
  • Skilled Workers YES 66.3% NO 33.7%
Some of the smaller locals are voting NO with seriousness.....I don't know this for a fact, but I'm wondering if those might have comparatively large temporary work forces (which the Union was working hard to reduce the amount of time it took for those workers to convert to full-time).

In those cases, even the Skilled Workers are far and away voting NO; from a distance, these plants (like GMC Harrison in New York) would appear to have fairly militant locals.
