He said in the opening press conference of the regional that he would start Boaz in a game 3 if it got there - but I guess we will have to wait and see. I’d say Boaz gets the start and at the first sign of any trouble they will go to Glauber.Forbes has to start him tomorrow right?
This. Boaz has looked good, let him go 3-4 and then bring in globeGo Boaz as long as you can and then Globe.
literally any of our staff but Decaro or Lynch. Decaro set us up in a major wayIf Glauber starts and has to come out, what happens then? I would feel better about him finishing the game than starting. But it would be risky if Boaz isn't sharp.
As long as he throws well. Do not want to have to climb out of a hole..This. Boaz has looked good, let him go 3-4 and then bring in globe
Yea, I know what you mean, but can you trust them to get the job done? Rose has been reliable, but others have been so off and on, I don't fully trust them.literally any of our staff but Decaro or Lynch. Decaro set us up in a major way
Dude you must not watch the Diamond Heels. Caden Glauber is our most reliable & best pitcherYea, I know what you mean, but can you trust them to get the job done? Rose has been reliable, but others have been so off and on, I don't fully trust them.
Leash will be short (on both sides, actually), but even 1 time through the order for Boaz would be enormous. As long as he throws well. Do not want to have to climb out of a hole..
Is this where I post…Guessing we see lot of Johnson tomorrow for SC. Not sure if he starts or not
You might be onto something. Start Jason, then let Ryan go in for relief. That will work.Personally, I’d start Decaro tomorrow
DeCarro two games in a row struggled to get past 4 innings, then he pitches a complete game. At this point of the season anything can happen.Yea, I know what you mean, but can you trust them to get the job done? Rose has been reliable, but others have been so off and on, I don't fully trust them.
I'm not a betting man, but I'd wager Boaz starts and Globe coming in around the 4th inning and going as far as he can from there. We've done it all year, I don't see Forbes changing course nowIf I’m Forbes, I’m taking every inning I can get from Globe
Therefore he starts, ideally he goes 9. If not, you bring in the pen
If Boaz gets clobbered early then we’ll have wasted Glauber entirely
This is where I’m atIf I’m Forbes, I’m taking every inning I can get from Globe

I think Edwards will be available to some extent in relief.Any chance Edwards for USC makes another appearance? He didn’t throw a TON of pitches Friday…just not sure if that’s a realistic turnaround or not for him to throw meaningful pitches with any length in this game.
Have you not seen Boaz all year? He is the definition of lit up lolDoes anyone remember what happened the only time Caden started? It was against dook, and he got lit up. Gave up two HR. USC isn’t dook. Starting a freshman in an elimination game like this when his only other start was awful would be insane.
Dude, I know that. I've watched all season. I'm wondering what happens if he can't go the distance or if Boaz gives up runs early and puts us in a big hole. He hasn't pitched a complete game yet and he's a freshman. It's a big ask. Just sayin. We may need help from others.Dude you must not watch the Diamond Heels. Caden Glauber is our most reliable & best pitcher
100% agree. You can’t risk getting down big early by going with Boaz to startIf I’m Forbes, I’m taking every inning I can get from Globe

I think it matters more what Forbes trusts...Yea, I know what you mean, but can you trust them to get the job done? Rose has been reliable, but others have been so off and on, I don't fully trust them.
maybe, just me ... but your logic completely escapes meIf you are truly trying to go all out you start Glauber. He’s going to be our ace next year so why shy away from him now. Starting Boaz makes no sense. He’s terrible. We saw what happened in the ACC championship. I don’t see how someone could justify starting him with the season on the line. McDuffie will be available and Rose I’m assuming for an inning or two. If there is a chance to buy an inning with Boaz between Glauber and McDuffie then maybe. I just can’t justify a guy that’s been a let down all season to start the biggest game of the year.
while i'm not endorsing Caden to start tomorrow ... i'll absolutely leave that up to our team's staff ... i think they know BESTDoes anyone remember what happened the only time Caden started? He was serviceable in his last Sunday start against ECU. If we get a repeat of that performance tomorrow, we will be ok.Have you not seen Boaz all year? He is the definition of lit up lol
The difference is, Lynch pitched in the finals for the ACCT, and he was fabulous. Forbes wanted to get him ready for the postseason. Clearly he was. I know the dook series was awhile ago, but as everyone knows, there’s a different mentality coming out of the pen vs. being a starter. It’s just a ton of pressure for a freshman in an elimination game.while i'm not endorsing Caden to start tomorrow ... i'll absolutely leave that up to our team's staff ... i think they know BEST
i will share these 3 points, however ...
1. Lynch transitioned into a vital starter during the postseason, stepping up to pitch in both 2025 regional and super regional games.
2. He threw a brilliant 7.0 innings with a career-high 5 strikeouts against Arizona.
3. Over three appearances in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, Lynch allowed only four earned runs and struck out 13 batters in 13 total innings.
a freshman ... just food for thought ...
