GW has apocalyptic injury issues. They lost 3 starters before the season began, another in practice before week 1, and another vs Lockport. Prob 7-8 guys playing both ways now.
It's brutal if a 7A-8A school has guys playing both ways.GW has apocalyptic injury issues. They lost 3 starters before the season began, another in practice before week 1, and another vs Lockport. Prob 7-8 guys playing both ways now.
Lockport isn’t very good…Well, they beat a very good Lockport team, and Rita had a few starters who missed last week's game vs. PC.
What was the outccome?GW has apocalyptic injury issues. They lost 3 starters before the season began, another in practice before week 1, and another vs Lockport. Prob 7-8 guys playing both ways now.
LT played guys both ways last year. Not sure what they’re doing this year. They’ve got like 100 kids on the team. It's brutal if a 7A-8A school has guys playing both ways.
Stream?
Yes but I'm not sure how to post it.Anyone getting this on NFHS?
Are they close to 8A? I know year's past they've been in 8A, prior to being in 7A for a long time.Great game. Oddly promising for the Hilltoppers. If they can get reasonably healthy for the playoffs look out.
7A last year. Always right on the bubble for 8A.Are they close to 8A? I know year's past they've been in 8A, prior to being in 7A for a long time.
I like the helmets with the red Mustang on it. Just not the Kenwood colors anymore, please.I hope they bring back the navy blue alternate helmets with mustang logo and come out in black or gray uniforms one game so all the old heads can lose their minds.
A recap of recaps--a tradition like no other! Good to have you back, my fellow Mustang. Start your weekly threads beginning this week, please.Rocks Recap
I know I haven’t popped in as much as in the past (college tuitions tend to do that), this Mustang team has me engaged.
I really do tip my cap to St. Rita’s neighborhood rivals and their recent incredible success. But it really is a treat to see Fisher snap to Fisher pass to Christina or hand the ball off to Cajetan on the jet sweep, maybe a swing to MHR, getting protected by Daniels, Christina and the last of QofM. I understand the doors stay open with families that began in Kankakee to Orland to Park Ridge but man the neighborhood is incredibly represented on your 2026 St. Rita Mustang Football team.
The offense is not 100% healthy with 2025 Baseball State Champ Hero Stubich gutting it out with a rebuilt wheel and Roney out for a couple more games but Burgos, Stubich, Price, Wantroba and Swanson have not only been making plays but blocking ferociously for whichever teammate has the ball. I’ll take our QB1 Fennell and RB1 Johnson into any street fight with me. And the OLine had much better pad level and push in week 2. I absolutely loved the Offensive Coaching Staff’s gameplan and in game calls throughout this barn burner. Definitely not your Dad’s Mustang offensive philosophy but I am intrigued.
Defensively, a ton of work to do but led by all over the field tackle machine Junior LB Schapendonk, if they can limit the explosives, keep everyone in front of them and make the opponent earn every point then I don’t see why they can’t be a solid unit when the weather turns icy especially if 88 keeps getting more disruptive week by week since I saw a ton of improvement from week 1 to week 2
Special teams led by all world Coach Standring have looked solid to begin the season. Need to stop letting up a couple big returns but they know that. Don’t know the distance the FG kicker can go but snapper, to holder to kicker have been automatic on PATs in the first 2 weeks.
I hope we can go into the 4th quarter next week on the road in Wilmette vs Loyola Academy and I don’t know how the rest of the season will unfold. What I do know is every opponent my beloved play against, they will know they were in a battle.
Debbie, fair warning, I’m coming to Wilmette with my neer-do-well SouthSide friends Friday night and pads will be poppin and I’m throwing my empties on your lawn.
Glenbard West, just a beautiful football atmosphere and community that woke this old fan up, good luck the rest of the season and maybe get a November rematch if my heart can take it
Great to have you back my friend! Needed you a few weeks ago when I was taking fire in the great Private vs Public War last monthRocks Recap

Thank you for manning the frontlines while I sipped on umbrella drinks as I was lurking once in a while pondering my retirement from posting.Great to have you back my friend! Needed you a few weeks ago when I was taking fire in the great Private vs Public War last month.
I had Rita at a likely 4-5 but would make a good run in the playoffs much like last year depending on their seed and when/if they play BR or ESL. I also had them 0-3. I'll up my 4-5 to definitely 5-4 with 6-3 a very good possibility. This week @ LA after the 5 hour bus ride on a Friday night (kidding but not by much). LA is very good and their DL and LB are their strength which should prevent problems for running teams. McKinley at WR will be a problem. But losing to the current #1 team on the road is nothing to hang your head over if it even happens. I'll know more about Naz after seeing them vs MC this week. I know a lot of people on Rita want to beat Montini since Evans left for them. If Sandburg can beat them no doubt Rita can especially armed with motivation! They did it to a good BR team when Maxson left! We'll see how they respond after the L when they play Marist this week. I think I had Franny beating them but I'm going to take that back and give the edge to Rita.
How has the Romeoville transfer do against GBW? I saw some of tue Providence game on You Tube and didn't notice him much but PC really didn't pass and it looks like GBW didn't either so this week should be a good chance to show what he can/can't do. Different competition then he faced at Romeoville.
Anyway, welcome back again and careful saying Kankakee or the haters on here will whip out Google Maps![]()
