be the PA announcer for the Generals and Jackson Senators- and perhaps the Jackson Mets. Intentional or not, he made the Mayor's Trophy feel like it had an Ole Miss slant to it, even though it really didn't, which kind of defeats the purpose of the game to me.

I remember growing up and coming to Mets and Generals games and having to put up with it, but he was a real doozy when it came to the Mayor's Trophy games. Guys like Waddle and Flick must have some serious blackmail material on some important people to have stayed employed for as long as they have (or had in the case of Flick). I mean how many catch phrases can Waddle rip off. 1. First Down!! OOOOOLLLE MIIIIISSSS ( a cheap rip off of every NFL PA guy in history). 2. DUUUEEECCEEE (really needs no explanation for lack of originality). The worst to me was JULIIIOOOO LUUUUGOOOOO from back in the Jackson General days. Sorry for the rant but the dude is a no talent *** clown.

there is no way a rational thinking human being can actually think Waddle is good or for that matter even competent. No black helicopters...just calling a spade a spade. He is terrible and unoriginal. For the record, I also made a comment about our former PA guy as well. Waddle sucks just like your black helicopter theory. Run back and blow Yancy since you brought up black helicopters. There is no one on the face of the earth who creates more elaborate grassy knoll crap than that guy.

It might have started with Newton. ETA: I'm not a big fan of Waddle either, but the job he does doesn't require a whole lot, at least for football games, just announce the down and distance and put emotion in your voice when it's positive for the home team. I've never heard him do anything outside of an Ole Miss football game though, so I can't really comment on the other games he does.

he does his job. He gives UM a home field advantage and gets the crowd into it (yes, by using first down OLLLLLLLLE MIss). Just like the guy at Arkansas and his another Arkansas Razorback (insert crowd) First Down. Holmes gets no one involved in the game and usually is a non-factor. He gives us no home field pop.

See basketball this year. Flick did suck at football, but he got basketball and made a home court advantage for MSU. The fans knew Flick and responded to him, and the hump rocked. We need to rehire Flick for basketball and find someone to make Davis Wade pop.

Bottom line: Love or Hate Waddel and most State fans do and should he does his job of getting the fans in the game and giving Ole Miss a home field advantage. My one critique is that a PA guy should never be or act like he is bigger than the game. Waddel does do that.

For what it is worth, State and Ole Miss traded home field for the Mayor's trophy game and that included all press box duties. I did PA one year for the Mayor's Trophy game. I also worked for the Generals for 4 years and I liked Glen. He is a Rebel and he is proud of that - I got no problem with that.
