i know im not supposed to ***** about officiating but

1. Fumble not called and to make matters worse we are called for a PF
2. On Two of their scoring plays they ripped off one of our players helmets.. Should have been a foul and they disqualify our player for the next play because of losing their helmet. WTF why the hell do you think the helmet was flying in the air.

And btw note to several drivers with Ms tags, left lane is for passing don't stay in the 17en left lane

As someone who drives 5 states for work, Left Lane Losers are everywhere. It’s infuriating. And just as they pull over a Semi passes in the left lane, up a hill and slows down to 50. Sigh.

That being said. Be glad you didn’t have to listen to the announcers. Lamar Jackson was the only player on the field yesterday. They were even praising how well Jackson back peddles. It was a joke.

I drive 35000 miles per year on some good roads, decent roads, fair roads and rough roads.

Some 4 lane roads are very beat up and have patches every 30 yards in the right hand lane.

I drive 72 miles per hour, and spend a lot of it in the left lane to stay off the rough patches. I set my car on cruise. I will speed up to 75-78 if necessary to get past tractor trailers. But I refuse to jump over in the right lane to get trapped behind big rigs just become some *** thinks they should be able to have a clear shot in the left lane at 80 mph.

I only stay in the left lane on interstates when there is copious amounts of big truck traffic. Otherwise, I move to the right.

Pass me on the right if you are in that bigvof a hurry and be happy.

That's going to be unpopular.

It's very simple: left lane = passing; right lane = cruising. Speed had very little to do with it.

If you're driving 2 MPH over the speed limit in the left lane, you are a dangerous driver and you're breaking the law in most states. Move the 17 over before you get someone (maybe you) hurt.

That is absolutely the truth! I witnessed, and drove myself through, a horrible 5 car wreck one nice afternoon on I-220 because of someone driving slow in the left lane. Myself and the car in front of me had moved over to the left lane passing some slower right lane traffic. As we came over a little high bump in the road the car in front of me hammered the *** end of a car in the left lane. I braked, cut the wheel, let off the brake, then got back on the brake, then got off the brake and put the gas to the floor and cut the wheel back again. I didn’t get a scratch, but all the others n my rear view not so much. There were cars spinning everywhere, and a couple shot off the shoulder up the hill towards the fence. I was unnerved, but my 10 year old son was scared shitless.

If I hadn’t been keeping my eyes in my mirrors and watching ahead, we would have been the meat in that sandwich and no telling what would’ve happened. That sort of thing happens more than we know, because of slow drivers cruising in the passing lane.

And passing a slow driver “cruising” in the passing lane, to their right, in the cruising lane?!? That can be extremely dangerous!!

Why cant folks simply follow the rules of the road? Driving is a privilege. We should all partake with safety and follow the rules..

You can ride in the left lane all you want but if someone comes up you need to get over and let them pass.

You aren’t proving anything other than that you’re an ******* who doesn’t care about other’s safety.

Yes to all of this. I started rewatching the game today and got angry all over again at that call.

Then I read your post and got angry at people sitting in the left lane or passing on the right. This is one of the few things that gives me road rage now; it’s inconsiderate and dangerous.

I've been a dumbass in the left lane. It's easy to be steadily passing people while going 5 mph over over the speed limit and not notice when somebody going 10mph over catches you. But I will never understand purposefully being an *** hole and putting people in danger (including yourself) just because you don't want to ride in then right lane. Just a WTF that I'll never understand.

Couple of commewnts and a question....

Some 4 lane roads are very beat up and have patches every 30 yards in the right hand lane.

One of the worst for me are people who, after you dutifully move to the right lane with plenty of room in front, come up in the left lane but instead of passing they get right beside you and then slow down to match your speed for a mile or two until you finally reach slower traffic in the right lane forcing you to slow down for it.

Another that is aggravating is when you are on cruise and are at a consistent speed but you have a car that speed up and slow down so much that they pass you and you pass them over and over. I hate that.

Now for the question. Here is the scenario, you are in the right lane but approaching a slower vehicle ahead. You look behind you and there is a slightly faster vehicle approaching in the left lane. You have plenty of time to get into the left lane and start to pass but not enough to fully complete the pass and get back in the right lane before the faster car reaches you. But then neither do you have enough time to allow the faster car to get through before reaching the slower right lane traffic and having to reduce your speed. One of you is going to have to slow down from your current cruising speed for a bit. Who should it be?

There were some pretty awful calls in that game. The late hit out of bounds that clearly was not out of bounds and a fumble to boot was beyond horrible. Also, I had never seen a PF called on a touchback kickoff but it happened to us TWICE! I am not saying all the bad calls were on us but then we did have 100+ penalty yards to ULs 22.

Not impressed with the big 10 officials.

And this is what I do unless I am exceeding the speed limit with the intent to pass a truck who is in the right lane. As I stated, the roads where I ride in the left lane are where the right lane is messed up with patches for miles and nobody is riding my butt in the left lane. I will not tear the suspension up on my car just because some jackleg thinks they have the privilege of driving 80 in a 65, or 85 in a 70. They are the dangerous drivers, not me.

Happy New Year!

I have recently changed my driving style. I set the cruise at 78, and then I stay in the right hand lane until I have to pull out to pass somebody. I used to automatically stay in the right lane until I was right on the tail of the slow guy, then try to pull out into the Firestone 500 lane to get around. However, after being blocked out time after time I pull out ahead of time, speed up to 80 and go around and then get back in the right lane. The guys behind me that flash their lights and ride my *** can just wait until I get around and pull back to the right. The highway is for everybody, including me. And, as somebody says in this thread, if you don't like it pass me on the right and we will exchange the happy motoring sign.

“The most popular law follows the Uniform Vehicle Code, which says a car driving below the "normal speed of traffic" should be driven in the right-hand lane. Because it indicates "normal speed" instead of saying "speed limit" a driver going above the speed limit but slower than most traffic is still in the wrong.”

More states are starting to ticket left lane riders. Not enough in my book. If you’re being passed on the right you’re helping create a very dangerous and illegal situation.

A subject very near and dear to my heart. I drive home every day from canton all the way to I-20. Four and sometimes five lanes and yet there are people driving the same speed in all lanes and you can’t pass. Burns me up. If I’m in the left lane and I see a faster car approaching I will move over and let them go. If they have somewhere to be in a bigger hurry than me then why hold them up? Also people forget there is a turn signal and pull over in front of me. I’m a rear view mirror driver and drive 70+ so I’m usually the one faster than everyone else as people here drive slow as crap. Last but not least, if any of you are truck drivers please for the love of us all, get in the right lane approaching red lights on highways so we don’t have to stay behind your sorry rear blocked in for a while!!

Driving in the left lane in a city is a little more excusable than on the open highway, especialy if there's only two lanes in one direction. In the case of multiple lanes in the same direction, the far left lane should be left as open as possible, but sometimes traffic is so heavy that it's not possible. Don't know if it's like that around Jackson, but is here at times. And folks definitely don't drive slow here. I-565 speed limit is 70 most places, actual speed of 80 is common. Passing on the right is also common in city traffic. Best to just go with the flow, whatever speed that is.

Generally, I back off a bit and let the faster car pass first in that situation. But I think either is acceptable. If you're actively passing a vehicle and move back over once you finish the pass, you're fine.

20 over the limit is actually less dangerous than 10 under the limit. Just drive in the right lane unless you are actively passing someone no matter what speed you're going and don't drive like an ******* (either an over aggressive one or a left lane hog) and the roads will be safer for all of us.

Not driving "slowly". If the assigned speed limit is 70 and I am doing 72 with the lane clear in front of and in back of me, that is not "slowly", that is actually exceeding the speed limit. I am within 2 mph of fully obeying the speed limit law. If a car driving a reasonable speed slightly faster than me comes up behind me, I move over if there is no immediate traffic in the right lane. If some jackleg comes flying up behind me going 80 plus with no emergency flashers on, I will move over when the right lane is clear. I ride in the Right lane at least 60% of the time anyway, but on 20 in Louisiana, riding in the right lane most of the time will have you going 60....most of the time. On 55 south in Ms. And La. same thing. On 12 between Hammond and Baton Rouge, if you are in the Right lane, you are going between 45 and 65 like a yoyo.

I have never seen one single accident in person in my 29 years of traveling on this job caused by someone driving a little over the speed limit in the left lane.

I did see a pickup pass me in the snow between Minden and Bossier City driving about 80 while I was in the right lane doing about 60. And saw that same pickup out in the median about 2 miles down the road.

You guys just love to ***** about anything that you disagree with.

Enjoy your day. I have lots of football to watch today.

And you just proved that you are incapable of reading an entire thread and making a reasonable reply like most of the Sheila's on this thread. You pick out a single statement which you disagree with( I am guessing you think there should be an unlimited speed limit) by asserting that 72 in a 70 is "slow".

Yet you are COMPLETELY breaking the law by constantly staying in the left lane while not passing someone. I would literally fight you if I could, nothing makes me more mad than a **** driver like you. Says a lot about your personality to completely disregard the entire world and system of laws and to be so proud about it.

Probably doesn't take his shopping cart back to the corral either ... just leaves it sitting in or near a parking space so it'll hit another car.
