And he should have been given more opportunities this season. Listen, we still stink with him. But this is the third year in a row ash and staff chose the wrong starting QB. And yes different oc’s. But at some point you stop getting a pass and that point is now. Ash must go.

Same number of wins but Gio did deserve more time. Can’t wait until Ash Clown is gone.

Agree, no more wins with Gio. Ash however is certainly not the answer and needs to be replaced. We will Not optimistic.know soon enough if that is going to happen.

Maybe we win an extra game or two. Maybe not. We still suck beyond all belief. He is not the future. What does it matter

Sitkowski was the right starter this year. Art is the starter for 3 more years and he's improved as the seasons gone along.

The main problem has been the poor OL performance. Either QB would have been fine with better blocking and protection.

Nope. Art sucks with OSU’s O-line.. he just doesn’t have natural talent and ability. It is what it is. He’s our man.

Northwestern would have been a certain win. I think it was likely that we had a chance in other games with some semblance of offense too. Many of the scores against us in other games were the direct result of Sit turnovers besides the short fields that put so much constant pressure on the D. That doesn't even take into account the constant 3 and outs that would put the D right back out there. If we moved the ball 4 more times a game for at least 2 or 3 first downs we keep the D off the field, shorten the opposing teams chances/time with the ball, and at the very least flip the field. We had a chance to be in several more games and possibly win with Gio IMHO

Lots of respec t for Geo toughing it out, but if he really wanted to play should have transferred to MAC a few years ago.

Agreed. Starting a true freshman dropback passer with a young, weak group of WRs behind a porous OL in the BIG East is a recipe for disaster. Gio may not have Sitkowski's arm, but he's more mobile and more experienced. AND, with the new red shirt rules, Sitkowski could have come into a few games and still had 4 years of eligibility left.

I thought Art was the guy, he definitely has the physical arm but that's about it. Decision making: bad (doesn't throw away). Mobile ability with out terrible OL: bad. The problem is almost as if the staff was hoping the OL would magically get better and that's why they left Sit in, instead of ACCEPTING our terrible OL, and playing the mobile QB.

Gio should have started every game for the past 3 years. For all his limitations and warts, this much is true. Ash and all his OCs have all been looking for a reason to not play him. Stupid.

I heard some interesting things from players parents regarding a certain pre-season heated debate between Ash and McNulty on who the starting QB should be.

Gio has a lot of heart but let’s leave it at that otherwise it’s pure speculation. Onward and upward.

Ok and what was it?

I've always assumed that McNulty, the offensive expert, was the one choosing the starting QB (Sit) instead of the career defensive coach (even though he is the Hc).

Lets say that wasn’t / isn’t the case here . According to what was said

@Richard Schnyderite or other mods .... do you have any insight into heated discussions / debates between Ash and McNulty as to who starts ? And which coach favored whom ??

Speculating, of course, but may have won another game or two, and certainly reduced the magnitude of the blowouts. And, in any event, has Art really improved? Less picks, but only because offense so limited. What was the point of this nightmare? What basis is there to believe next year will be better?

If it was Ash's decision, I'm guessing it's because he wasn't expecting to be on the hot seat this year. Gio is gone after this season, and maybe Ash wanted to give the experience to a guy who would be around for a few years when he might be coaching to save his job.

YES. I wanted to start the chant, but no one would’ve joined in.

Would not have been a good look sitting in the family section...just saying lol

Again, this is why many fans on here get pissed off at you. Dude, no one is happy with Art's play but regardless of Ash's decision, he is still a kid and he is one of ours. Many other people have spoke of Art's play this year in this thread but no one else just attacks the kid like this all the time. It is fine to point out that he has not played well, maybe that he should not have played at all and to point out what he has done wrong, but statements like "Art Sucks" is ********.
