Grant didn’t walk. If anything got fouled. Glad they let them play though hate tacky fouls at the end.

If you don’t think that was a charge at the end. I’m not sure what to say. That was textbook.

Kermit is a tool.

Nah it was a walk. Pause it at 4 seconds and slowly drag the video. You can argue it was a foul but it was most definitely a walk. He picks the ball up at the top of the key and plants his right foot, and then takes a step with his left, and then another with his right before shooting.

Almost no one here is saying that wasn't a charge. You can argue he was fouled but it was CLEARLY a walk considering no foul was actually called. He's not Giannis, he's not covering that much ground legally.

He most certainly did walk. After he “gathered” the ball, he proceeded to take 3 steps before getting the shot off. It’s easy to see if you look at it with anything other than orange colored glasses.

A worse walk than the one called against Petty from Alabama when they had UT on the ropes at TBA. Seriously the most corrupt place to play in the SEC.

That's not a walk. It's two steps and a jump. Also a clear charge on Ole Miss.

Possibly a walk. Hard to tell. Much worse is allowed multiple times every game. Walking has become such an arbitrary call anymore, it's hard to even define one. But should be cut and dried. The same could be said about carries. But kids ( and pros) are so used to getting away with it if you called them all you'd never finish a game. The charge was a charge. Not sure there's any way around that.

Man, looks to me like he picks it up at the four second mark, takes two steps and jumps. Either way it's a 50/50 play, and we all know the the age old rule, don't put yourself in position for the Refs to decide it for you. Ole Miss still had time for a good shot before they panicked.

Ole Miss, got the raw end of a 50/50 call, but then panicked and shot themselves in the foot when they could've got a decent shot.

Actually in shock William's didnt jump in the air, then lay himself out in the stands like he got hit by a sniper. He wanted to flop bad.

Damn some of y’all have a weird boner for Williams. It wasn’t “clearly” a walk. Questionable at best but I’d lean towards two steps. If you call that a walk then you could call half of the drives we take walks.

Lol, so you are glad they let them play and didn't call fouls at the end. But agree with the fouls at the end?

No, he has two feet planted on the ground at the top of the key with both hands on the ball. His left foot is just barely inside the 3 line. He then establishes his left foot as the pivot foot but takes a final, albeit illegal, step with his right foot. He actually takes another step after that, so even if he hadn't gathered the ball initially on the first step and you make his second right step the pivot, he still walked. Was it close? Yes, but still a walk by every definition.

I'm not going to blast the refs for missing it because, while I thought it may be a walk in real time, I wasn't sure. I had to confirm by slowly dragging the video marker that was posted above. It was still missed though. Has nothing to do with a weird boner for the guy, whatever the hell that means.

Who in the hell can make a legal move with the basketball planted from damn near the 3 point line? Giannis is probably the only one capable of that. Maybe AD. Williams sure as **** is not long enough to do that.

100% he did walk. I usually skeptical of these claims, but I slowed it down into slow-mo and there’s no denying he took 3 steps.

He was almost at the FT line by the time the ball had bounced back up into his hands and he starts his two steps. Plus he wasn’t that deep when he shot it. A lot of guys could have gotten that far on two steps.

No, we can't stand flopping and if there was an award at the end of the year for flopping he would be the unanimous winner. The fact that he is a really good player makes it even worse.

Why is everyone slowing this down to a tenth of a second, and then blaming Refs? It was 50/50. Ole Miss should've made that FT and not panicked and taken a stupid shot. You can't blame the Refs for this.

Thank you, I was having trouble posting a screen shot. He clearly has the ball in both hands with both feet planted. His left foot is actually behind the 3 point line. Just pause the video at 2 seconds and it's clear. Last I checked he's not 7'4. Walk.

As for Williams and walking I didn't think anything about it live during the game. After watching it closely I think he did walk. But traveling calls change from game to game. What's a travel one game isn't in the next.

I can't stand RJ Barrett, and dude is a beast, but I've never seen a player get away with it more than him. The jump stop and then taking two more steps drives me crazy and it's never called on him.

I don't get this. I hate Tenn as much as any Kentucky fan, but Ole Miss wasn't robbed, and when we win Sat, it'll only make us look better. It was a 50/50 play, and Ole Miss blew it anyway.

No one's really viciously attacking for the refs for missing the call. I even mentioned above I'm not going to blast them for it. It's only when people came on the thread and claimed it wasn't a walk did I actually argue over it.

Ole Miss blew the game, Williams also walked. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

I hear ya. Just don't see the walk. I agree it's close, but can't blame officials if they get that particular one wrong when it's needs to be slowed down frame by frame.

The guy walked and he also bear hugged the kid on the rebound which the refs called a tie up. Nobody’s claiming a conspiracy. Simmer down.

Can you define "weird boner"?! [roll]

It was not a walk at all...Some people on here can't be reasonable to save their own lives.

Good video.

I think a lot of people see walks everywhere, all the time, and are usually wrong. That was my thought here, because initially it looked like Williams was still dribbling on the first step, making the second perfectly legal. But he actually had 2 hands on the ball before that first step, so yeah, it's a travel. Still a very tough call to make in real time, though.

The charge is also a tough call, but it's exactly the type of play that should not be called a charge as far as I'm concerned, even if it often is. The defender should NOT be allowed to establish position under a shooter AFTER the shooter has left the ground.
