This dude is a monster. He should be everyone favorite player this season. This team goes as he goes and is the ONLY reason we won that Georgia game last night.

Seriously this dude is playing like a 4 year vet. All while having a smile on his face as he carves up the opposing pg and finishes/gets fouled in the paint.

What are your thoughts on Shai?

He is not flashy but he just makes plays. Seems under control. Sneaky with the ball in his hands. He and Green are becoming a very good backcourt.

I want the ball in his hands if we need a basket... Very confident in him making the right decision and either scoring or drawing a foul. And he is deadly from the free throw line...

He was the star of the Derby classic but the talent level mediocre in that game.

Seems like that doesn't actually matter. He's got game and he knows it.

It seems that a light has gone on in his head and he is beginning to realize how to play D1 college ball. He is a match up nightmare for opposing teams with his length and ability to drive the basketball. SGA is quickly becoming their leader and my favorite player on the team.

First post ever, but I agree. I thought several times yesterday the UGA guards were very timid bringing the ball up against him specifically.

SGA struggled early in the season with turnovers trying to learn to play a D1 college level speed. That is no longer an issue. He not only has learned to play D1 speed, but he plays with heart...like he has something to prove. Now only if the rest of the team would figure out that just being athletic is not good enough, but you have to play with heart...well...let’s just say this team could still become very special.

My posts in July and August were all about how I was excited to see SGA run the point with his length. When Others were hardly talking about him. But with my crappy TV, it's hard to tell him from Diallo without his wild hair.

He is tall for a pg at 6’6 and his freakishly long arms (7 foot plus wingspan) allow him to steal balls, reek havoc in passing lanes defensively and get shots up on the backboard while driving to the basket.

I think we will see Cal go to a lot of three guard lineups with PJ and Knox.

If you noticed even in the first few games he is great at hesitation , speeding up, slowing down, or slight head nods when he drives to the hole. It's not your normal speed/angle you see on a regular basis. If he is knocking down his outside jumper it opens everything else up. I've said the offense goes when Green is rolling. Now I think it's Alexander. Be nice to have both playing strong at the same time.

Hes become a stud in 2 months of D1 ball. He reminds me a little of Wayne Turner in the way he looks while handling it. It may be his long arms.

That happens when the topic has already been discussed to death.

He's awesome right now, but I'm going to caution everyone, he's going to become a focal point for opposing teams now. Which is another reason to continue bringing him off the bench.
But he's going to hit a freshman wall eventually and we can't freak out and start saying he sucks. That seems to be the norm for some on this board.
The UT game is one that has me concerned. Barnes, as much as we rag on that guy, is a master at taking away what teams do well and if I were him, I would focus on cutting off the head of the snake… SGA.

12-13 from the line yesterday. Definitely put the ball in his hands with the game on the wire

Cool? Who would you rather talk about Brad Calipari?

Or maybe discuss SGA on one of the several threads already started for that identical purpose.

YOU are the one asking why you had only 8 posts to a topic already beat in the ground then you whine when you get answers?

Yup long time troll. Check my posts.

How is Alabama doing in Football? I bet you are a fan? Or am I just being a bad person and putting you in a box from where you are from?
I mean I get it. No wonder you don't care about UC you live in Alabama

You have no clue. Lived in KY for decades. Live somewhere else now. If you knew anything about KY basketball, you’d know geography is not a constraint.

I’ve watched us slam UC before. I’ve seen them try to thuggarize their opponents for years. Just another little piss ant program that has nothing we need.

Just an observation. He has emerged as more consistent than some of the other players who originally were tagged, by we fans, as our "go to guys".

Real games, not practice, usually reveal who one can count on.

Cal, often says that, I believe.

I really like GAs game.
