Minnesota is a below average team that plays Iowa football. Win the line of scrimmage, run the ball, play field position, beat teams that aren't able to meet the challenge. Which aren't good teams.
Why we can't handle that type of yame is beyond me. It just takes being good at the LOS.

Why the **** can't we recruit OL OT??
we spend a gazillion $$ on skill positions. Working outside in. Should be the other way around. A 3 star QB with a great line would be way better.

That has been the most frustrating part of our existence in the big 10 has been losing to Minny Iowa Wisconsin Illinois, teams that aren’t very talented but execute well. While we don’t. Tonight was a return to stupid penalties and dumb mistakes. We turn into that really quick like vs those teams year after year. We are a pud team that doesn’t reside in the core of the Big ten and won’t ever amount to **** unless a man like Curt Cignetti shows up

If we can beat Northwestern we can get to six wins. I see no other wins left on the schedule. Same deal as last year. Get to 5-1 and implode. By the time the 6th game rolls around there is plenty of game tape that shows where your weaknesses are. For NU, once again we have a horrible O line, weak D line, and have players on defense that can not tackle or shed run blocks. Special teams were fixed. The mere fact that Donny was allowed to come back this year shows Ruhle is not serious about building a program here. What B1G team with a **** O line have ever done well in the B1G?

I just pray our AD does not offer any kind of extension. Let this play out. We are on the hook at least two and probably three seasons as it is. I know these kids work hard and hope some how we can get to a bowl game.

I don’t understand why rhule desires this brand of football.
When you have a highly immobile QB, a OC who can't run the fvcking ball, a retarded OL coach, and a big mouth Pvssy who can't bench a kid because they paid him 3 million.

All facts! And I sure hope Dannen doesn’t make the stupid decision that previous ADs have done in extending FB coach contract when not deserved. Losing some games is going to happen, hardly any team will go unbeaten. But losing in the way they did last night is completely unacceptable, hardly even competitive!

Ruhle has said he is a CEO type HC. He delegates authority and responsibility to his position coaches. Ok, fine. But when those position coaches fail to teach, motivate and the results of their unit boarder on malpractice, when your team cannot block or tackle, then what? Maybe we don't need a CEO that does podcasts as much as we need a hands on nuts and bolts HC that is 100% involved in every aspect of team building, including holding those position coaches accountable for the results of their unit. Eckler should be given a huge raise. What ever he is doing is what is NEEDED done at every other position on this team. Give me 8 or 9 more Ecklers and we will kick some ***.

That’s a good analogy. MN is “Iowa lite”. PJ Fleck has even mentioned it before that he wanted to model Iowa’s program.

Rhule is not a great HC. Never has been, probably never will be. The proof is in the pudding. This is the weakest schedule Nebraska has had in recent memory and there's a decent chance the team finishes 5-7. Absolutely pathetic and inexcusable.

Your comment about those other teams (that Neb continues to lose to) “aren’t very talented” is simply trying to cope. They all have D1 athletes. Heck, Iowa currently has the 12th most former players currently on NFL rosters of all college teams.

I'm not going to make excuses for the play of our team last night but was it totally unexpected? Since Franklins firing from PSU all we've heard from the media is Rhule may be headed home. Doesn't matter whether you like or dislike Rhule it is a distraction and Rhule didn't exactly defuses the situation when interviewed, that's on him.

So now Matt Rhule most likely is not on PSU's list of candidates any longer, not sure he's on plan B and the players can try and get a few more wins and play for a decent bowl game. For me it's time to move on. jmo

Do you really think the result would have been different last night if Franklin hadn't been fired? I don't.

I don't really care right now I'm just putting down some thoughts like every one does. I'm fully aware we have many who are in different camps about who are coaches are and there's nothing you or I can do to change that it's above our pay grade. Maybe some day a man will be hired to your liking but I guarantee you not all will like the hire. Not snarking on you response just replying

This coaching staff and players best circle the wagons for the NW game. Lose that one, and the wheels fall completely off.

We then have USC and UCLA back to back with each team coming off a bye week. It could get ugly if this team starts mailing it in.
