Getting into the parking lots

Was it just me or did getting into the lots seem even more difficult than normal last night. I left the Brickhouse Tap, less than 10 minutes away, at 6:00 and barely got into my seat before tip off. I thought it was ridiculous the way it was set up.

100% agree. I had the APC deck for parking but the stupid attendants just keep waving you down and I missed the entrance. I know now they want me to cut someone off and maneuver through a small gap in cones to get over and into the right lane.

Luckily they let me park in yellow. The guy at the APC told me I had to circle back around because I went 1 cone too far.

Coming in off Sutton's into the yellow lot at 6:15 wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Although the guy didn't have change for a $20 so had to pay by credit card.

I took School St- RT on to Suttons LT onto Rockafeller. Parked towards the back of the lot and walked. Parked by 6:30 and was in my seat by 6:45.
When the game ended, I walked back to my car and was out of the lot and back on School St fairly quickly.

I approach the RAC coming up Metlars lane to make the left onto Ave E
The traffic light there is only green for about 15 seconds, it seems, causing a long backup of fans arriving from that direction

The traffic is terrible all around the RAC, if you are coming in the other side also

Traffic was backed up pretty far on 18 but after that I thought It moved much quicker than normal. Parked in the APC deck

Have to cut through cones to get into Green lot. RU likes cones and weird metal grates which while may be helpful during admission but are a disaster and liability waiting to happen post game.

The cones are ridiculous. There will be accidents.

The setup once you got off Route 18 was absurd.

I’ve never seen that many cones setup and they weren’t doing a good job of directing people into the 2 turning lanes.

I’ll chalk this up to being the first game but hopefully they figure it out by the conference games.

Smooth sailing into one of the free lots coming in the super secret back way via Highland Park. Added bonus - little bit of a walk helped burn a few calories from dinner at Stuff Yer Face.

Same here. It was a little tricky getting in but I think there was some unrelated police activity. Getting out was amazingly easy.

Coming from Avenue E:

Far left turning lane = Yellow lot
Other turning lane = Deck/Green lot

No?
That's correct. I learned that last night after sitting in the far left lane when I had to get to the APC. Next game I'll get there earlier that last night and also remember to get into the the designated lane on the right.
Also, I am EXTREMELY pissed off that I got moved from Green to APC only because I didn't donate my ticket fee for last year when there would be no attendance at the 'Arena'. Had Green since the first game ever at the RAC.

I also took School Rd. to a right on Suttons and a left onto Rockafeller and into the Yellow lot. I got there at 6 PM and it was wonderful. I also got out very quickly. I was highly surprised things went so well.

It took about a half hour from the circle by the business school to get into the green lot. I don’t think that the two sheriffs officers directing traffic at the entrance to hospital road had ever directed traffic before.

It was pretty easy, but we went very early anticipating issues and wanting to be in for the banner ceremony. It was a great crowd that really wanted to explode several times, but our offense kept throwing a wet blanket on us.

Simple Solution.

Rutgers needs a few BIG SIGNs -

1. Entrance for Jersey Mike's Arena Green Lot, VIP and Deck Parking Pass Only (at the Light).

2. Game Day Parking go straight or turn left depending on direction heading to the RAC.

3. No Student Parking in the Green Lot on Game Day.

Random question, but are spectators allowed to cut through the RWJBarnabas building between the APC deck and the arena? Given that the walkup entrance to the APC deck is on the opposite side of everything on campus, the walk to and from the parking deck just seems longer than it needs to be. Is there a shorter way?

We are also in the deck. When we arrived, we followed the signs for the "walkway", that was a pretty long walk. We stopped in the APC and asked the security guard if we could cut through next time, the answer was no.

After the game instead of retracing our steps, we exited the arena on the side closest to the deck and walked along the side of the arena and entered the deck from the front. Much shorter walk and since we parked in one of the first few spots on the ground level, we were out of there pretty quickly.

Totally agree. My wife has bad knees and we were moved from the Green Lot to the APS. I was told it would be a shorter walk from the APC than the Yellow Lot. When speaking to my Ticket Rep. I got the impression that you come out of the parking deck on the side of the RAC. Total BS and totally pissed.

Thank You. Thank You. Thank You.
We will do that the next game. That will really help my wife's knees.

agree with you about no knowing there were 2 lanes of cones however I saw that and stayed to the right and probably saved 15 minutes as I went right down Hospital road and into the yellow lot

For anyone parking the APC, we all need to call and express the same complaint. The idea that you have to exit on the opposite side from the RAC and walk around the APC is simply dumb. There are stairs from the entry level of the APC, that bring you to the foyer of the APC where the store is. all then need to do is put up some cones to keep people walking straight thru and out the main doors. The RAC is 50 years away.

I am at a loss as to why this path was rejected by the Parking Guru's at Rutgers.
