Getting bowl eligible?

After that 4 win start, it is hard to look ahead and really feel confident about getting 2 more wins.
We really have no significant offense other that KM, and teams are doing a great job of taking that away. Our passing game looks like last season.
Now, with the loss of so many players, we are seeing just how thin our talent is.
So much for the early enthusiasm.

last year's oline was very good. not sure what happened to our oline. unless we fix the oline quickly, i think UCLA and MD are our best chances to bowl eligibility this year. looks like teams have figured out a receipe to neutralize our run game.
on D, we don't pressure QBs as much as we used to.

Beating UCLA and Maryland will be a stretch. I will be happy if they are one score games in the 4th Qtr.
The Coaching Staff is in complete chaos right now and the injuries are multiplying. Our QB looks totally lost… not surprised at the end of last season Coach Fleck had the “talk” with AK… adios

And AK stares down one Receiver. Been doing this every game since Howard.. makes it easy for B1G Defenses.

I said it last year. With a much easier schedule, missing a bowl would mean a hot seat for Schiano.

I know most people posting this afternoon will be rooting for losses coming up, but UCLA and Maryland haven't won a conference game yet. And unfortunately, I know, in the eyes of many posters, the Washington game still counts. Sorry.

Not true. Most fans want Rutgers to win enough games for a higher level bowl game.A combination of injuries, questionable play calling and lack of talent make that goal less likely.

Depends on who the new AD hire is & if the program is down, they may want their own guy.

BUT, lots of time to get healthy & turn things around- so hopefully it's a moot point

No, his sugar daddy Hobbs made sure Schiano is here for 4 more after this year no matter what. But since 5-6 wins a year is fine for this fan base, so what.

And as Shelby predicted, the hyped ‘25 recruiting haul will never happen.

Did I miss the mass exodus of commits? I get everyone is pissed about the shitshow today but many these far reaching absolute gloom and doom calls are a bit much at this point in the season.

Save your post. You will see. It’s how it always works. Success has many fathers and failure is an orphan.

Top players don’t pick schools to play in the Cabela’s Pike Ice Fishing Derby bowl in Winnipeg the second week in December.

3 winnable games
UCLA
Maryland
MSU
Minnesota might be a game that goes Rutgers way, but that can't be expected.

Well, he does deserve another raise and extension. I mean, it was hot today and he stood the whole time. He only makes 6 million a year for chrissakes. Take it easy on the guy.

Greg is making $6.25 this season, not including performance bonuses and perks. And he isn't here for 4 more years - his contract expires in 2030 when he will be earning $7.75 base salary and over $8 if he does a decent job on the field and selling season tickets.

Shelby meant it will be four more years before being able to afford to fire him, at the earliest. We’ve got at least 4 more years with this fraud. That’s all he is. So he’s better than Ash. Who cares.

Don't you love how a large segment of the fanbase goes into the turtle in the shell mode after a bad loss and declare the season is over? Not the kind of people you would go into battle with. Yesterday sucked. Let's wait and see how the next few games go before crazy talk. No game is an automatic win in the B1G.

Isn’t this supposed to be an easy schedule with no OSU, PSU and Michigan?
Greg will play a Big ten schedule with out facing a ranked team with the most returning seniors in the country. Hand picked OC and transfer QB and to no surprise underachieve and embarrass himself and the university in a big way.
He continues to be unorganized and is still “teaching and developing kids who have been here 5 years”. He is bad in every facet of the game .

He is currently and always been a bad X and O coach: Are only hope is New AD new head coach.

Oh, and pay 2.0 $30 million to go away. That’s not happening. Fans got who they wanted. A coach who couldn’t get a HC job anywhere else, and for obvious reasons.

Who is saying that is a peak?

This is what makes zero sense. If we go from 6-6 to 7-5 that is progress. You want more wins.

I feel like there is a portion of fans that would rather go 5-7 but one win is against some legacy B1G program.

Wasn’t expectations higher for this season though?

Avoid most of the top Big Ten teams (despite what people keep saying about Nebraska, Wisconsin and Washington).
Nearly the entire offense returning
Returning Big Ten rushing leader
Improved WRs
Improved QB
Nearly zero injuries for the offense
Returning OC

Considering all that, not sure a 1 win improvement is that impressive.
What happens when OSU and PSU are back on the schedule?
When KM leaves?

I think most people said 7-9 wins. We are on track for that. Am I missing the reasonable people that were saying otherwise?

Ofc as we know injuries have been an issue. It's a lot more than zero.

Right now our recruiting is very solid. To me you want progress to go in a line. So, if last year was 6, the floor this year 7, next 8 and so on, barring some kind of good/bad outside circumstance.
