I'd argue that no Lee, a sub 100% Ulis, and foul trouble all game for Poy would throw the entire team off. You can't come back from that and truly adjust when you're this young.

Jamal was shooting 45% from the 3. So he wasn't playing terribly. Ulis wasn't terrible, he was injured. Hump, in his first valuble-minutes game, wasn't terrible. They were far from it, actually. The only two who really yucked it up was Skal, and Poy... but again, Poy was in foul trouble all night and it threw his game off (Though I'd argue alongside of you that he should be able to deal with that better, at his age).

Without key injuries no way we can lose 12. So stop with the melodrama. Worse case scenario we don't win SEC tourney or NCAA. That's 3 losses. Assume loss at KU. That's 4. IF we lose to UL we'd have to go 9-7 in SEC or if we beat them then 8-8. See how ridiculous you seem?

This team loses 8 to 10 games this year counting SEC Tournament and NCAA Tournament.Everyone is not a troll that states this.We will lose one to LSU,twice to Vanderbilt,at Kansas,at Texas A&M,one of at Florida or LSU at home,and one of the Arizona St.,Ohio St.,or UL games. This is just not a well put together roster.The bigs are truly lacking, and when everyone on here says Lee is our best inside player, I know we are in trouble.

Do you not learn from seasons like 2011, and 2014? Cal will have them ready by March. 2014 had double digit losses but still played in the championship game. And this team is more talented. We need to come to grips and lower our expectations. After watching this team for the first time I said 6-10 losses and an SEC regular season or tourney win and a Sweet 16 would be great for this team. I have seen nothing to change my mind. We look like one of Billy Donovan's old soft Florida teams, to be honest. Lots of talent but just no defense and soft as a baby's ***.

You could have said the same thing about dUKe. Their bigs (Plumlee and Jefferson) would kill us and they would be stroking it from the outside (Allen, Jones, Ingram, Kennard).

While Plumlee (mainly the first 5 or 6 possessions) and Jefferson had good games, we won handily.

Do any of you remember that it's the teams who are playing their best in March that are in the best position to make the final 4? This is a different era. How quickly some of you forget what happens during March madness. We've rarely ever looked like a championship team in November and December. A road loss to a talented UCLA team means very little. Yes, we have to improve and we will just like every other year with our best players being freshmen.

Gotta be bait thread... We played poorly against the bruins, but had no Ulis and Lee. No excuse, they beat us. But I wouldn't be cringing to see them in March at full strength. But props to em, they beat us down

Poythress is recovering from a knee injury, Ulis from an elbow injury, Lee went out with a head injury. All of this on top of being a young team's first true away game against a team looking for revenge.

This is not excusing us from a terrible game, we have a lot to work on, but the factors sure didn't help.
