My grandson bought two beers at the Alabama v Georgia football game at Georgia . As he paid the card machine asked him for a twenty percent tip 0n his forty dollar charge for the two beers.
he said “wow eight dollar tip for two beers that’s pretty steep. “The guy behind the counter said “you realize none of us serving you see any of that money . all tips
goes Into an NIL fund for Georgia football. “
Is this really correct? Or was the Georgia worker simply razing him because he had his Alabama gear on ? Do we do this ?

That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. A tip is a tip. If it's a donation to NIL it would be required to be identified as such on the reader. Your grandson was getting his balls busted.

I could see the vending company getting the tips. And in turn, they make a hefty donation to the nil fund.

If I’m working hourly salary and getting tips, then this is crap. Now that group working that particular concession stand might donate all their tips to Georgia NIL. Most groups working concession stands are making money for their on organizations. I used to work one with the Chiefs when I was in the Navy and we donated our money and tips to St. Jude.

I've been to game where they ask you if you want to add any money to your concession stand purchase for NIL purposes. This sounds about like the same thing.

Given their track record with DUI and alcohol-related deaths within the football program, this seems unlikely, but not altogether implausible.

I think it is for all concessions. It was that way at the Ohio State game.

You can buy 2 cases of Budweiser for $48. That concession worker was assuming your grandson would pay anything for a beer.

$40 for 2 beers? That’s highway robbery. That’s the bigger story here. Christ.
NIL baby. Its an inelastic product. You drive up the price and you will still sell out. May as well squeeze out all the revenue you can from all these saps *cough* I mean fans *cough*
