Why does he go into a shell offensively? He passes up so many decent looks and we end up with a similar or worse shot. Just don’t get it. We really click when he is aggressive offensively. He has that alpha ability and it opens up the floor.

He seemed very tentative today. Certain times today, he was isolated one on one with plenty of spacing but didn’t attack the basket.

He's been very passive this year. He was more aggressive as a freshman tbh. I'm not sure why.

If you watch him the last 3mins of the Minnesota game than you know what he is capable of and How he SHOULD be playing all the time.
of he brings that every game this team is on another level.

Geo is fine. He’s playing within the system and knows when he has to take over. I like that mystery about him. Pretty unassuming during the game, but more than capable to take over when it counts. In the past, we NEEDED Quincy, and Corey, and Geo to step up because there was no depth. Although RU still has trouble putting up points, we have others that can score. We should be glad that Geo isn’t our only option. If he was, the game plan is to shut him down, thus resulting nearly always in a W for the opponent.

I agree he can be more assertive at times. But I don’t think his play determines the fate of this team. I listened to the first half on the radio while driving, so I couldn’t pay attention much to his first half play. However, I thought he did some key things in the second half.

I disagree because the team is experiencing long scoring droughts which should be the time for Baker and Harper to want the ball and make a basket. They are the leaders of the team offensively .Right now McConnell and Young are taking more of the shots. In the end Rutgers won the game by double digits because of defense more so than offensive execution. The team was scoring far more points early in the season when they played Iowa and Illinois at home. One explanation might be that Baker and Harper haven't fully recovered from their injuries.Rutgers needs these two players when post season tournaments start because they are one and done games if the team loses.

Geo needs to shoot at least 10 times a game. Why is he not more aggressive? And what the heck is wrong with Ron. His long 2's yesterday looked good. Not sure why he can't hit a 3 anymore. These 2 players are the key for us having a good B1G tourney and NCAA tourney. We need them to start dominating now and lead this team.

Success isn’t individuals scoring it is the team scoring. Shots taken should be dictated by situations not by a set number.

Taking bad shots is a problem.
Turning down open shots is a problem.

This team (and every team) is dependent on scoring. Who cares where the scoring comes from?

The problem, in my opinion, is that Harper and geo can’t get good looks lately. The last thing they should want to do is force up shots that aren’t in flow. No doubt the offense is struggling, but I don’t think it’s because they don’t want to step up. Other teams game plan around these guys, so good looks are hard to come by. As Pike says, they have to be better than the scouting report. They simply haven’t been.

Geo can get a good shot anytime he needs to . Hitting a 12-16 foot jumper in the lane is there all day and there for Caleb as well as their height allows them to shoot over smaller guards. Why he waited for the second half to hit and easy 10 foot jumper and a more difficult step back3 is mind numbing. He is a senior and Pike keeps saying what a leader he is. Being a leader means to shoot 15-20 shots a game preferably hitting 6-8 of the 13-16 footers in the lane and not waiting for the end to hit shots. He is deferring too much and with Ron struggling , it is not the time to defer. Caleb has stepped up with big 3’s in the Minnesota and Northwestern games but Geo has to score early and often so we do not have to be life and death in the last few minutes of games. He did it as a freshman when Corey fed him but now he needs to take over and earn that preseason Big 10 honor that the coaches and media voted him for.

this would be okay if we had a high functioning offense. He passes up so many decent looks as if he’s a role player. He needs to set the tone and be aggressive. It doesn’t mean he needs to chuck the entire game, it just means he needs to let the defense know that they need to worry about him. Against NW, he passed up so many semi-contested shots only for Caleb or JY to take the same semi-contested shot and miss them (until Caleb at the end).
