Geo sets his sights higher

[JayRU09]

So if you remember, before last season Geo simply tweeted '1991' in reference to the last time we made the tournament. We all saw what happened.

Last night, he simply tweeted this:

Geo is one of the best competitors that I've seen in watching RU for over 50 years. He is also a great ambassador for RU and a wonderful guy.

[BillyC80]

Gotta love the sweet simplicity of that tweet, the confidence it provokes, and what it means to the RU Nation.

And Harper's reply was simply "2021." There is a similar thread running on the football board right now.

Looking forward to another special year.

So Geo thinks the football team is going undefeated?

Not delude anything from the 1976 team, but going undefeated in the B1G would be nice and the best red team. A true upstream program.

[Scarlet Blind_rivals]

It is going to be much harder to go undefeated this day and age compared to 1975-76, they scheduled 25 reg. games(25-0, mostly Ind. and ECC), a conference tournament? 2 games(2-0), and won 4 to get to 31-0 and Final Four. 2020-21, they would have 30-31 reg. games(20 B1G games), double bye B1G tourny(3-0), and 4 more to go undefeated final four(37-0 or 38-0). Much harder road but I could definitely see this team near or over the 30 win total at the end of the year with 2 seniors(Geo, JY) and 5 juniors(RHJ, MM, CM, MJ, Doucoure) leading this very deep team. The top 3 win totals in Rutgers history is 31(75-76), 24(77-78), and 23(82-83). So the last 37 years, RU MBB have won 20 games twice, 2003-04(20-13) and 19-20(20-11). Expect most if not all the records to fall with next year's team.

Love Geo, he might be my all-time favorite when all is said and done.

In 1976, we had an undefeated regular season, but we also reached the "Final 4"!

I would think he is thinking of that goal rather than being undefeated during the regular season.

After all, how often does a team go undefeated through a season now?

[Scarlet Shack]

It’s about final four guys....
