he has many big shots in his career, but It’s becoming a bit of an alarming trend how many times Geo has gotten his pocket picked in end game scenarios. Thankfully it didn’t cost us yesterday but certainly did against Houston last year and against Minnesota this year.

I get frustrated watching Geo take some bad shots and turn it over sometimes, including key moments late game, but it’s amazing to note he has the 3rd best assist/turnover ratio in the Big Ten. Have to think how frustrated I’d be watching players on other teams 😂

Geo is going to be the first player in 40 years to have his number retired. Like the rest of us, he's entitled to have human moments.
I don’t think so but surely if anyone were to have their number retired from this group, which they won’t, it would be Ron Harper Jr going away, taking nothing away from Geos contributions.

Better not. He's no all American. Just appreciate his time..but no on the number.

I respect this point of view. But Quincy Douby was also a great player and didn't get his number retired. So we agree it's not happening for RHJ. I think Geo will because of the fact that we were truly awful his Freshman year. He has presided over the metamorphosis of Rutgers Basketball as much as Pikiell.

I love Geo. Maybe my favorite player ever. But the three numbers already retired are the only ones that should be. Selection to an All-American Team is the criteria. Plus, it would be insult to the Roy Hinsons, Eddie Jordans, Mike Dabneys, and Hollis Copelands of the world.

Those guys you mentioned were all better players than Geo. But Geo's impact to the program is what's historic. RU has earned a trip to the NCAA Tournamant 3 times in a row. You need to go back 40 years to count off the three previous trips.

Sorry. A career 11 Point scorer with his % shouldn't get that honor just because he was here 5 years. He was a part of a team that achieved and turned things around and not even the MVP for several years.
Find another way to recognize his contributions. Name an award or something after him. And that's my opinion.

This is the gist.

Really liked whoever through out putting in a ring of honor type deal when we expand the RAC entrance. This situation is what those are for.

Why is it an advantage for Geo and a negative for Ron that we were very bad when Geo was here and playing a very big role as a freshman? If anything it’s a positive for Ron that significant improvement coincided with his arrival and increased involvement.

But again, moot point. Neither should have their number retired. Is @S_Janowski final four situations comes up we will all be thrilled to re-evaluate!

I will never understand those who consider Geo “Basketball Jesus.” Last year he was at best the 4th best player on the team. Everyone listed their MVP’s as Jacob and Miles. This year, everyone is saying the MVP’s are Ron and Cliff. Yet somehow there are those who insist Geo get the bulk of the credit for Rutgers basketball success every year??

It's sort of like when you compare the careers of Rice and Leonard. Rice was the better player, but Leonard is the bigger hero. He was here when we were terrible and he left when we were on top. Geo has that extra year that Ron doesn't have.

You take the whole player. In Geo’s case, mostly good with a little bad. When I watch a guy like Ivey or Curbelo, I’m amazed at their incredible talent, and yet, due to their frustrating lack of control at times, I prefer Geo.

Geo will be elected to the Rutgers Hall of Fame where he belongs. And if you retired Geo's wouldn't you have to retire Ron's too? Of course, if Ron if wants to stick around another year and become an All-American then...

Getting away from the jersey retirement discussion for a bit, I don't think Geo was the problem during yesterday's end game. He drove to the hoop and barely had a shot rim out and set up at least two other attempts that should have been easy lay ins with gorgeous passes.

Even if two of those go down at those moments (which is realistic to expect), you're not sweating the end nearly as much.

Expect the boys to have more poise this time around at the Dance.

We're going to continue to surprise some folks this year.

I made that suggestion because there are so many players that had stellar careers who should be recognized at a prominent location in a updated RAC.

Wait what? Nobody told me I was allowed to have human moments. WTF?

I've gone my whole life without pooping. Now you tell me.

Yes, that's right. I'm FOS.

When the pressure was on, Geo has choked time and time again.
Last year, we needed to beat Minnesota to get to the NCAA tournament and Geo allowed them to tie the game in regulation. Young saved the day in OT withour the tiniest bit of help from Geo.,

Last year Geo fell apart in the last five minutes against Houston. Missed shots, not blocking out, turnovers, He actually dribbled the ball away to give the game away without anyone touching it. He just somehow forgot how to dribble. I have never seen anything like that, much less with the Sweet Sixteen on the line.

This year, multiple missed last second shots to lose games. Then we need a win against Penn State. At home, senior day. Well, we all know Geo played like crap. Pressure on. Must win, but Geo is going to Geo. But all forgiven by the Geo worshippers. He still gets the credit for the win and tournament appearance. Frankly, the Geo worship is creepy.

What a gross distortion of history by leaving out the game winning shots that he made

You are definitely the bottom of the barrel of our fan base

Did you conveniently ignore what I posted about the end game? Were you there and did you see the plays develop?

Not yet we haven't. If I was reading the matrix correctly, 29 of 123 brackets did not include us at all.
