The other thing as Danny Breslauer pointed out is he beats his man but doesn't drive instead he shoots a step back 3 when you are not hitting your outside shots take it to the hoop!!
I really like Geo Baker but he's not a point guard and it has not only begun to hurt his game but the overall performance of the team. Perhaps because he looks tired at times from having the ball in his hands so much , he's begun to force shots ,turnovers have increased, and distribution of the ball suffers. To his credit , his defense looks to have be strong.
I feel sorry for Geo. Pikiell let him down. Horrendous evaluation by the staff. Thought Souf was a B1G point. Then used a scholarship on a transfer combo guard who’s sitting out instead of a grad transfer point to bridge to Mulcahy. More proof that Year 3 is another “don’t-need-to-win now year” for the staff on the way to a mid-B1G team in 2020-21. This season - 9 or 14 wins, what’s the difference?
Geo is not a SG. He is a combo guard. He is lucky he is here because he would not play as many minutes elsewhere.
He is simply not a scorer but is being played as if he is supposed to carry the team on offense. If Pike keeps running the offense like that don't be surprised by another last place finish.
