Yes, I’m sure they have Clemson’s games on demand in his hotel room. He can just order them with his remote.

That’s all the practice time the NCAA allows.

Did anyone else enjoy the video the athletic teams put out a while ago about how their entire worlds are on their SHI issued tablets. Film to academic study all in one place.

I enjoyed and paid attention to that video. Thought it was cool.

Is this your best?

You going to be able to perform your job or run your company or whatever you do tomorrow or will you be too tired from being on the internet tonight like Geo?
No one is as tired as you are defending Geo. Hope he’s paying you for all this.

So you don't think that this is at all a distraction?

I will say this - unless he’s really hoping to get this through so he can benefit from it by returning next year, I can’t imagine why he’s doing this right now. If he’s a game or two away from being done with college, what’s the point?

You just gave away how ignorant you are. Every HIGH SCHOOL sports program now has something called HUDL...an online film storage website/app. Football especially but many basketball programs use it too. Films get saved in the library of the website and can be accessed anytime anywhere.

You don't think Rutgers basketball has an online film library?
I was kidding. I know what HUDL is. It’s not used as much as you think though. But because I have a family member that played college basketball, I also know that film study differs by program. Some expect you to do a lot on your own. Most coaches make sure their presentations are filled with enough info that they don’t have to trust their players to figure it out in their free time. Short doses of film are also easier for 18 to 21 year olds to digest. I believe Pike would tell them what they need to know and then tell them to relax for the rest of the day.

Is it possible? Sure, I guess.

But come on. You don't actually think he should be watching condensed Clemson games on Youtube all day.

Dude - I think it’s over. He just posted another comment on Twitter 52 minutes ago. So to summarize - 11:15 PM the evening before his teams first NCAA game in 30 years. You can argue (as I agreed) he doesn’t need to think about Clemson every minute. But do we all not agree that if you were focused on winning you’d be asleep right now before the big game? Sigh

A quick search on YouTube shows 17 condensed Clemson games.
This is the new way of college and high school coaching, less film work more hands on:

No but you stated that Clemson games weren't on demand. I'm just pointing out that if you wanted to you could watch some Clemson sets.

Actually no, if possible I think they would want to sleep late tomorrow since the game is so late.

I'm not the one who posted that, I just responded to your reply to that poster.

I think, with few exceptions, that everyone in the thread who is saying that he should be "focused on Clemson" would not have the same response if he were Tweeting about playing Call of Duty or something.

I hope your right but I highly doubt that’s the typical game plan for night games. It doesn’t work that way. A good night sleep typically involves getting to bed at a reasonable time. We’re tipping a little after 9 not midnight or something.

I'm not really sure. When I was in college my "natural" sleep time was like 4am. I have no idea if these guys are supposed to be going to bed early when there is no specific reason for it or not but I don't think there is cause for alarm if someone is up at 12:30 the night before a 9pm game.

This thread has, at least. I‘ve been chuckling at all the angry anti-Geo posts. Grown men impotently ranting because their objects of entertainment are being uppity. LOL

It’s not that. At first it was one or two comments and I thought “good for him in speaking his mind”. Yesterday’s on the banks article and most of the talking heads said as much. But now it’s gone on and on and isn’t stopping. Do you see how folks on this board have different opinions and are bickering? How do you think the guys on our team like JY who haven’t commented feel right about now? If we are worried about distractions. Don’t you think it’s possible the other guys on the team resent this too? If it was a unified front by the whole team wanting to focus on this right now we’d probably know. There would be Twitter posts.

It's not that for you, but it pretty clearly is for a bunch of the people in this thread. If JY has the views of a Caliknight or a sunsetregret they've probably hated each other long before this to be honest. At least if they ever discuss anything non basketball related.

Nah I certainly don’t think the other players have strong view opposed to the NIL like the back and forth on this board. That’s not what I meant.

I’m talking more broadly about the media focus - all the articles. Maybe the other guys didn’t want RU to be in the spotlight right now for this with the biggest game in school history to focus on. Yesterday was one thing but with Geo just continuing to go on and on - if your another RU player and don’t feel as strongly about the NIL cause one way or the other what are you thinking right now?

Uh no. I’d be too excited to sleep. I’ll bet you never had the makings of a varsity athlete.

That must be it. I guess he was just trying to distract himself from the excitement with yet another late night knock at the NCAA to help him sleep.

People on this forum always have conflicting opinions and spend an inordinate amount of time complaining. Which is typical on sports forums.

Just because some fans are angry and distracted (a common occurrence) doesn’t mean Geo or the other players are distracted in the slightest. Lewis Hamilton spent all of the 2020 Formula One championship agitating loudly against racism in general, and for more diversity in F1.

Lots of people, online, said he should shut up and be grateful for being an F1 driver, and for his immense salary, and that he should stop being so distracted. Sound familiar?

Hamilton thoroughly destroyed all the other drivers to win his 7th championship.

I hope our players are just as “distracted” as Lewis was.

As a long time RU fan, this is just setting the stage for a blow out loss tomorrow. This team is soft and distracted with other crusades.

If Geo is practicing hard and doing everything the coaching staff asks of him, then why is it any of yours or anybody else’s business what he does in his free time? This notion that the players must do nothing but sit in their hotel rooms and think about the game is ridiculous.

What sets the stage for a loss tomorrow is our wildly inconsistent play all season. Not that he didn’t spend the night emulating the raw egg drinking scene from Rocky I.

Teams don't use Youtube or Hudl. They used
a platform called Synergy. I'm sure Geo has watched plenty of film. Looking forward to a victory tomorrow.

Cali , you’re rich. Maybe step up here and be the booster you should be and get geo and the guys some fringe benefits or a McDonald’s bag. Do the right thing for the program .

In what can only be classified as a mistake, I just spent 10 minutes reading through Baker's twitter feed (including re-tweets of his teammates). All I can say is this team is remarkably dislikable and it's hard to believe these are the same kids that were such a pleasure last year. I was sorry to see Myles is roped into this too. I actually feel bad for them. Imagine being gifted with athletic ability and the height necessary to play Division 1 athletics, treated like big-men-on-campus for two years, and still be completely miserable.

I hope they win tomorrow, but I'll be surprised if they do.
Who cares whether the players are likable or not . Athletes don’t care about me and I don’t care about them . What is likable is winning. I like winning. Big time college hoops is one of the dirtiest businesses around . Just win
