Imagine Willie Gay getting a B on a chemistry test and that not trigger some internal questions from the staff.

“I can’t imagine having to cheat in college” - marketing majors

^^ Sits in break room dreading the return to cubicle bitching with others about the overpaid douchebag salesman and his "weak *** marketing degree." You know the salesman making a fat salary with commissions, driving a company vehicle, comes and goes whenever he wants, and plays a lot of golf on the company dime. That guy is the dumbass huh?***

That guy better save that fat check because when the company is bought out, the product line becomes obsolete, or the economy heads south... he is one of the first out the door.

I don't know what world you work in, but in the real world professional salesman are the last to go... Now order taking, no cold calling, account managing, non closing, glorified customer service reps may be cannon fodder, but a professional sales rep has the ultimate job security... You can identify them by these..

That class is comparable to the class in Physics, Physical Science Survey. Non calculus science credit

Fall classes for football players should be art and music appreciation, freehand drawing, fundamentals of football, etc. Chemistry in the Fall, poor judgment

It's both, the damn tutor was careless with his test taking. During a basket ball game for Lil Spoon while he was playing.
You can't fix stupid.
People took test for others when I was in school in the actual class and didn't get caught.

will keep saying this until it’s understood. They aren’t in Gen Chem. They took Survey Chem which is widely known as one of the easiest A’s on campus.

It’s basically, “Matter can be in three states, ______, liquid, and gas”

A. Football
B. Cheese
C. Solid
D. Left Field Lounge

Never took general chemistry or general physics but I tutored general physics.
If you aren’t a math person, it’s not a cake walk.

This is correct. When I was in graduate school (early 1970s) I taught elementary microbiology - a science course for non science majors. I had all of the EE (elementary education) majors, Most of the business majors and (at some point) the entire football team.

I never took roll. All tests were scheduled a month out, multiple guess, from class notes. I had office hours two days a week, where they could copy the class notes if they As far as I know, elementary microbiology is sill the same. You had to be really dumb to not ace the course.

In those days, the non science courses were elementary microbiology, elementary biology, Chemistry survey and physical science survey.

One of my favorite test questions was given by a fellow grad student, who taught physical science survey. I'll never forget it:

Rain comes from ________.

A. Clouds
B. Soil
C. Mountains
D. None of the above

People in his class missed that question.

You are implying that a majority of marketing majors get fat salary salesman jobs? That's a joke.

You’re right, but that doesn’t apply in this case. Because they aren’t in general chemistry, they're in 7th grade chemistry.

Were you "encouraged" to take it easy on the athletes and businss majors **? I'm not sure I could do that -- they'd at least have to attend class and try.

Makes more sense why football players are taking it

Athletes aren't necessarily dumb, but I don't remember any "skill level" football players on our team that actually had exceptionally challenging majors. Maybe there have been. I've heard Jeffrey Simmons was a good student, but I don't know what his major was. Dak did OK. We've had a kicker or two that were engineering majors, but I suppose they don't have to spend any time learning football plays and presumably have to practice less than other players, so therefore have more time to devote to school.

During my days, we had a lineman in ChE with us. He was not getting help. At that time, the school was far more desperate to push/pull a certain number of females through. Several of those were doing next to nothing and passing.
