How lucky is Duke getting Bagley at the last minute? He is having a monster season to carry the team. Take him off and they lose
I could care less who won that game as I despise them both but UF proved why they will win a ton but not do much in terms of the tourney and Duke did the opposite .Bagley is the best college player since AD and while guys like Duval are overrated Duke can ride him all the way. UF has zero post game and is very weak on D which are 2 things you have to at least be decent at to win a title. UF IMO wins more games this season then Duke but Duke is built more like a title team.
When I see Duke behind by double digits in the second half I laugh because it is a given that the other team will fold like a cheap suit or that the refs will never allow it to get out of hand. I'm never surprised when I finally see Duke pull it out. Floridas slowing down the pace that early destroyed their momentum. It's just like the prevent defense in football. It leads to almost certain failure. K dodges another bullet, What else is new?
They were scoring in bunches, outrunning Duke in that first half, but that second half...
Took the air out of the ball instead of continuing to play. We've seen Calipari do it a number of times since he's been here as well. Almost always backfires. If Florida keeps playing they win that game by double digits, no doubt in my mind.

Carter with two blatant offensive fouls down the stretch which were not called. That was the real difference plus chiozza missing a couple of good looks

Epic choke job. They started dribbling too much instead of moving the ball like they did in the first half. We are gonna have a hard time beating these Gators though.

Nick Richards will be key against them (Florida). They don't have anybody that can match up with him. They're very good otherwise though. Duke has Marvin Bagley, and they will win when he does well, and could drop a game to many teams when he doesn't. I like that we have a more balanced team. He is incredible though no doubt about it.
There isn't a team in the country that uk CANT beat, but as I think you already know, you better be firing on all cylinders against fla.....that team is real. ky is used to owning the SEC. Can't take fla lightly
I won't disagree. Florida is really good. They have weaknesses though. If UK can find a way to exploit them then I think they can win. Easier said than done though.
Players said no change in approach, but got very tired late. Understandable.
Chiozza played too many minutes. Florida looked like it had a decent backup in Okauru but never used him.
Yea, with one exception, Cal usually has one player that the other team just simply can't guard. When you have that one player, you can take the air out of the ball and get a good shot at the end of the shot clock almost every time. Florida's problem is, they don't have that player, they have a bunch of good players that are extremely tough to beat when they play happy. When they slowed it down, all the happy went away and they were stuck taking terrible shots at the end of the shot clock. They could have just been patient, run their offense, and take the first really good look they got and likely won the ball game. As it is, they dribbled the shot clock down to almost nothing and then either turned it over or took a terrible shot.
They were missing shots late that were dropping earlier. 7-0 run by dewk and i knew it was over, but uf was still in it but couldn’t finish. couple of turnovers by hudson sealed it. i thought they looked a little tired at the end.
The Hudson kid looks like a very tough guard.
But to the contrary, Florida didn't run the shot clock down. They took bad shots or turned the ball over rather early in possessions. It looked like they played more isolation late in the game, but they didn't bleed the clock. When it became obvious they were unglued, I began starting to wish they would. They didn't.
Unbelievable how the refs swallowed their whistles on both. Florida player goes sprawling and yet its a no call. LMAO.
That is horribly impressive. You almost would certainly hit a shot by accident in that amount of time.

Duke's zone stemmed the tide in the first half. Got them back in the game.
If he was playing for UK, he'd have three quick could in an important NCAA game. With Duke, you can forget about it.
Remember, Florida gets center John Egbunu back in January. They need a good inside player and he fits the bill. UF is very good now. A genuine FF contender full strength.
UF went cold down the stretch, and the stripes let Duke get away with a few felonies, but the real killer was UF's last two posessions. First, down 1 a clean turnover and fast break the other way, second, down three Chiozza passes up a shot to tie for a stupid pas to a guy who was covered and threw up a prayer to end the game.
Jason Parker had legs like pillars and went down. Hard to predict though I know a lot of Duke haters wouldn't mind seeing Bag on the sideline.
